Have they actually taken you to court? It is my understanding that they cannot take your vehicle unless you have been sued and the court has issued a judgment to the financial company against you. If they try and repossess your vehicle w/out the judgment IT IS STEALING. They demand payment at the end of the month because that is the last day to get their numbers to where their management requires. The employees are under pressure to get their deliquency down. If the payment comes on the first rather than the 30th, they did not get credit for the collection (I worked at a company who I believe to have similar policies) They cannot come out and just take your car without a court document. I hope that helps, and I hope you are able to get back on your feet very soon!!

I come to this site often to read about companies that i chose to not support. I usualy read 10-20 week on whatever i am thinking about at the time. for whatever reason i clicked on your email. first i am sorry to hear about your husband. it is never easy for anyone to go through the thought of a loved one in pain or the thought of losing one. i know that it must be hard to think clearly, not knowing what tomorrow will bring. realize however what you just wrote. at the time of financial need we run to banks, when they say yes they are our savior. we get the house we need or the car to get to work and for those fortunate when finances are deep enough to recover from such a thing or lucky enough to not have to endure this, never a thought to what will happen when things go wrong. when they do, however, we expect forgiveness. it doesn't work that way. money has no heart. it didn't when you got it, it didn't now that you don't have it. we have a way in this country of confusing happiness and love. money definately makes people happy but can easily disappear. love goes beyond all these things. just as the realization that there will be ramafications of default.... you may lose your car, ruin your credit, get collection calls and the stress involved with that but we can't have it both ways with banks (happiness and love), just happiness and when we don't say yes to a bank, they turn very quick... such is their nature. i wish you the best but realize what is important in your life, do your best to pay what you owe but when the line is drawn, chose love.
