On July 23, 2007, the movers from Authorized Movers showed up at my home. They were rude from the very beggining. The Man, Chen, called upstairs, who said he was the foreman, and told us that there was no parking, and if he got a ticket, we would have to pay it for him. We called the main office and he called my husband and said to forget about it. The movers then began numbering the boxes ans taking our things out.
Once they began loading the truck, the foreman told my husband that there would be additional charges because our items occupied more cubic feet then estimated. Mind you that when we reserved this move, we spoke to a very polite woman named Jennifer who told us that we should leave everything we have bc it would be cheaper for us, because "the more you have the less weight we charge". Well, the case was that we ended leaving our living room set, our son's twin bed, and our dinner table, because we could not afford the additional charges. Once everything was laoaded on the truck he told us that the total was 1925.00 , which we could not understand. So we were going to give him 50% of the quoted price of $1447, which is what the online contract stated., and the hard copy contract, but he said no, he wanted half of $1925.00.
We called the office several times, bc we were so confused, and they told us to pay the half of the $1447.00, when we told Chen that he said no he wanted the half $1925.00. We asked him to call the office and he said he was not going to do that bc he was "the boss."
Anyhow, eventually we told him, fine. We were so confused at this point we just wanted them to leave. He told us our mover could be in Texas by the 28th of July, the latest the 3rd of August. The 3rd of August came and no one showed up. I called them and they said, it will probably be there on Monday.
It is now August 13th and i still do not know when my move is coming. I call everyday several times a day. I have been told that i am being rude, by calling so much, and that my calls are being recorded. They are basically threatening me for calling them so much. I just want to know where my things are. They hang up on me all the time, or they trnasfer to they long-distance department, but no one ever answers.
We have filed complaints with several agencies. I want to get the word out, that in the beginning they will treat you like royalty, once your things are in the truck, they change the story. At this point, I just want my things. Anyone who has dealt with this company will understand.
