So you bought a camera that didn't work, but didn't want to have it replaced -- instead just wanted your money back? Why? Best Buy has had this policy since the middle 90s...it's nothing new. And they now (at least our local store) place a sticker on the box that clearly states the restocking fee and return policy. Unfortunately people buy electronics with no intention of keeping them but using them for a few days/weeks/whatever and then returning them for their money back. The alternative is to shop at a place like WalMart, which does refund the entire amount and then places the used item back on the shelf for the next sucker. If you really want good service when shopping for a camera, go to the local camera store; some place that has a vested interest in their customers. N-

I congratulate you on successfully applying the Dale Carnegie approach with them. Maybe the camera was dead simply because its batteries were dead?
