I purchased four tires from VYC Best Used tires. In the description of the items it clearly stated that all tires were checked for holes prior to and after the purchase. When I received the tires at least three of the tires had holes in them near the sidewalls that made them un-repairable.

I only needed three tires and did not check the fourth for holes although it most likely had a hole in it also. After receiving the tires all four had red arrows drawn to the edges and this was the location of the holes. If you look at the picture in the listing none of the tires had red arrows drawn to the edges. I have photos of all four tires after I received them. One of the tires also had green slime on the outside of it.

I called Mark at Best Used Tires and he told me to take photos of the tires and he would attempt to get my money refuned without me shipping the tires back to him. I did this on but Mark never called me back. I tried for two days to get him to call me back and after two days, he did finally return my call. He told me that I needed to ship the tires back to him. I did this through UPS and shipped the tires back to him just as he had shipped them to me. They were shipped in pairs of two.

The tires were shipped back to him on 3/7/08 and the cost for shipping was $105.14. I checked UPS tracking and the tires arrived at Best Used Tires on 3/12/08. Mark never made any attempts to contact me but I called him on 3/13/08 to make sure he had received them and asked about my refund. He said he only received three tires and would only refund me the purchase price and shipping for three tires which he said was 182.94 although I paid the shipping price for four tires. What difference would it make if he indeed only received three tires, which I am sure he lied about. I still paid shipping for four.

UPS is currently investigating his claim that he only received three tires. I asked him why I was responsible for return shipping since he shipped me defective tires and not the same tires he showed in the photos of his listing. He said that was just the way it was, what a response. He said he would have the refund in my account by the afternoon of 3/13/08. I never did receive the refund. I called the next day and got the same story but still no refund.

I have also filed complaints with Pay Pal, Square Trade and the BBB.

Do not buy from these clowns they will RIP YOU OFF. Also if you purchase through ebay and send a negative feedback on them, they will in turn send a negative feedback on you even though you did nothing wrong other than buying used tires from a SCAM business. A few days later they will send you a message aksing that if you withdraw your negative feedback on then, they will then withdraw theirs on you. This is how they are able to keep their feedback rating so high. BUYERS BEWARE.

I find this very hard to believe. I am the one usually gripping about a company, but i saw this and had to take 10 minutes to register with ripoff and then respond to this customer.

I have purchased tires from this company 3 times and every time the tires were as good (if not better) than described  by them. I wish the shipping was cheaper for me since it cost as much for me to get  tires as it does for the guy in california and I live in Pennsylvania.  But they have never lied to me. Or misled me about the purchase. In  most cases the tires are new but out dated stock or discontinued stock (according to the tire shop I go to) but they are still new and in great shape. The used ones (which I bought once) are usually 70 or 80 percent tread.  But for around 12.00 more you can buy the new ones they sell.  For this reason I find this hard to believe that this story is true. I worked for 3 years with AAA  Motorclub repairing tires and replacing batteries, and this company beat the cheapest place in Erie Pa. by about 20.00 a tire, considering I was putting on a BF goodrich or Michelin as opposed to some off brand tire.

I have dealt with Best Used Tires and had a similar situation where the tire I received had a small nail near the side wall. After sending a picture to them they sent me another tire and told me not to send the tire back.  The next tire had a small slit  near the bead and it was also replaced. I did not notice the slit but the installer did see it. The next tire was perfect but the wrong size. That tire was sent back and I received the right tire which has been great. I was out $30.00 for remounting one or two tires but it did not cost me  $200 plus for a new tire. Could they have done a better inspection job, Yes. Their customer service was great!
