I recieved letter from BFC Produce on Monday. I did apply to do secreshopping a couple of months ago. Now since I'm new to this I thought this was a great opportunity to earn extra Andy get some great products. Now I was also leery about this as well because of the scams. That are out there. With the check looking pretty authentisaid was asking myself is this fake or actually a real opportunity. Wells on Monday I called the Bank of America where the check is drawn on to see if this was a legitimate account. Just to make sure there was no funny bussiness. They confirmed that the account was actually a real account. Which I then proceeded to deposit the check Yesterday. Lucky for me I work a couple of jobs and won't be able to even touch this money till the weekend. But I was still leery and came here after talking to a co worker. I've decided to not touch this money and let my bank inform me that its a fraud. So it sit there for at least ten days, my reasoning is that the account is active and open.

Yes it is a scam, especially if anything such as Western Union or sending Pre-Paid Debit cards is involved.

The account may be "valid", but the check itself is either counterfeit or has alredy been cashed.  Depending on the bank it may be anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks before it comes back as bad.  So even after your 10-Day limit..DO NOT touch the money.

Now, just a bit of a warning.  Because the check may come back as a fradulent check, there is a slim chance your bank may decide to close your account for fraud..even if you don't touch the money but just for the fact that you deposited the check.  It really depends on your history with them and if they see you as a future risk.  Unfortunatly there is not much you can do about that now, and I honestly wouldn't even mention it to the bank and just see what happens.  I am just letting you know that this is a possibility.
