This is an awful business. So let me start from the beginning. I plied for a job they were offering thorugh the paper. They set it up to seem liek itw as a real legit company. they told me to come to their corporate office. Now when some one tells me that they have multiple offices nationwide, and that I am coming to the corporate headquarters, i expect a nice building with at the very least heating and cooling.
I get there for my first interview, and this "corporate headquarters" isan overly crowded room stuffed with desks with phones on them. There is bearly room to walk. There is no heating, no cooling. The fax machine takes up most of the room. That should have scared me away but I really had to make money. I worked for them for 4 weeks and NEVER got y paycheck, then they called me and told me to not come back.
They hire me right off the bat. The people that worked there were creepy to say the least. There was no clear "boss" to report to. The people they hired came to work wearing what ever they wanted (bikini tops, flip flops, pjs, gang related shirts) I was offered drugs MULTIPLE times by the people there, not just pot but speed, meth, heroin. I didn't want to fraternize with any of these people. But like I said I stuck it out for the money. I showed up everyday, closed deals every week. [Enter]
And by close deals, this is what I mean. They give us index cards with schools names, their team names, the coaches names in the upper corner. We are "supposed" to be making school posters for these teams and raising money for their equiptment by getting local business to donate money. On the middle of the card is local business around the school. They get an advert on the page for a donation and the poster goes all over the town. [Enter]
So here is what happens with that. Isee a coaches name I recognize, my high school coach who taught my PE class. I still kept in contact with him because he was very helpful to me and I was raised through school with his daughter who is a good friend. I call him up and I ask if he knows this company and he says no why. I tell him because we are raising money to go to the team and he lets me know that they never heard of us and he never raises money through companies like this. He never saw ANY Posters from us.
Then I start calling up some of the business advertized on the posters in the room. They too never got a poster and they pitched in sometimes $800 to the advertizment! So I call up the school on the poster and ask if they were happy with the poster. They didn't know who we were and never got any posters.
Thats when I concluded that these people were never raising money for schools. The posters printed around this "work place" were the only ones in existance. I had emailed some of the schools to let them know as soon as I found out.
These people are pretending to help out little elagues and schol teams with their costs and instead pocket every dollar, and don't even bother ot pay their employees!
I ran into a few people that worked for them before and they let me know they never had a paycheck either! And when i posted on craiglist asking if any one else had been employed there and never recieved a check, I got over 100 responses from people that worked 1-5 weeks and never saw a dime.

in more than 300 cities. Big Game Promotions is bonded and registered with the Department of Law in multiple

The accusations made in this rip off report posting are false and defamatory.

I am the General Manager of Big Game Promotions. Nearly all the statements that this "ex-employee" has written are either distorted or completely untrue. My assumption is this was written by a competitor to try to discredit us, or by a disgruntled employee that was terminated do to poor performance (We have never employed a DANA).
Regardless, we will present our side to many of the statements.
"this "corporate headquarters" is an overly crowded room stuffed with desks with phones on them"--Partially true. We are a small office and it can feel overcrowded at times. Just like any small business, we don't have a massive office. But every company has to start somewhere. :) We also DO have both AC and heat.
"I worked for them for 4 weeks and NEVER got a paycheck"--As a LICENSED commercial fundraiser in both California and Oregon, we are required to follow all labor laws, both Federal and State. We would never risk losing the company over a couple thousand dollar paycheck.
"There was no clear "boss" to report to"--The corporate structure here includes a "Closer" who acts as a team leader, a Sales Manager, a General Manager, and our CEO/Owner. There a strict procedures to follow up the chain of command for complaints and issues.
"The people they hired came to work wearing what ever they wanted"--MOSTLY true statement. We want our employees to feel comfortable at work. Flip flops and PJs=OK. Bikini Tops and "gang" shirts a definitely not allowed.
"I was offered drugs MULTIPLE times"--We have a Zero-Tolerance Policy for drugs and alcohol at the workplace...Just like 99% of all companies.
"They give us index cards with schools names, their team names, the coaches names in the upper corner"--True. We use both paper leads about the size of an index card as well as computerized dialers and leads.
"I call him(Coach) up and I ask if he knows this company and he says no"--Every school we work with has signed a contract with us to produce their specified product. We actually have an entire department that focuses on signing and maintaining them. We have direct permission from each school to use their name, logo, pictures, etc. We also have commitments to these programs to produce hundreds(sometimes thousands) of copies of their products. It is in our best interest to keep all schools and sponsors happy so the next time we produce a product, they will once again choose to sign up and sponsor again.
"I posted on craiglist asking if any one else had been employed there and never recieved a check, I got over 100 responses from people that worked 1-5 weeks and never saw a dime."--That statement is an absolute lie. We have NEVER had an employee that was not paid for their time. Feel free to inquire with the IRS about us. We currently have 20 full-time employees(half have been here over a year). They enjoy what they do and feel good making a difference in these kids lives.
I hope that anyone reading this would use their judgment when deciding to business with us and/or any other company. Please feel free to do contact us for references, licenses, and more information on any statements above.
