COLD WASH ONLY: The owner of this Laundromat keeps the thermostat on the hot water heaters low in order to save money on his gas bill. Excluding the fact that I've been using Laundromats for 20yrs and am pretty familiar with them, this info. has been told to me by an actual employee. It is considered an unwritten rule among Laundromat for years, to drastically cut back on their gas bill.
When questioned, any well coached/trained owner or employee will bombard you with countless false reasons why there IS hot water CURRENTLY RUNNING in their machines. The MOST popular excuse is that because of the type of glass on the front door of the washer, "you cannot feel the temp of the water by touching the glass". That is totally bogus.
They are raking in money by lying to the unsuspecting customers by providing ZERO hot or warm water
The good thing is that there are some honest places still out there who provide the PAYING CUSTOMER with hot or warm water. Complain to your local B.B.B.
