This companies advertisement states No Credit Check; Bad Credit not a problem your still financed for a computer no matter what your credit situation may be. The customer is to make weekly or bi-weekly payments on the product depending on what product you've selected (desktop computer or laptop). Blue Hippo claims to be affiliated with Gateway.

You provide your account number so they can automatically take the payment from your account. You are asked to make at least 7 consecutive payments first before your computer is shipped and after that 7th payment your computer is supposedly shipped.

Initially the sales rep told me the computer would be shipped 5-7 business days after your 7th payment. Once my 7th payment was made I waited 2 weeks and I hadn't received anything. I called and they told me it takes 4-6 weeks to received the computer.

At this time 9 weeks have gone by and everytime I call to get the status on my computer I get a different story. I was never sent any papers to sign as any type of agreement. The only documentation that was ever sent to me was verification of my address for shipping purposes.

The first time I called for an update I was told "Oh you'll receive a letter in the mail from UPS with you ship date; if you don't receive it over the weekend call us back Monday". Never received anything. Monday, they told me "Oh, we're a little backup but your computer was OK'd to be shipped" 2 weeks later I called again and they tell me "We're still backed up with getting the computers shipped so I'll waive your next payment.

I originally opened my account on March 6th' and at that time I had them take 2 payments so that I could speed up the process and get my computer a little faster. NOT... I called again Monday July 19th and asked for a refund "Now all of a sudden it's no refund even though I still have not received the product that I've been paying for. As of today I've paid well over $500 for absolutely NOTHING.

Think about this - if you have the money to pay them for 13 wks straight then you have the means to put that same money in a savings account, or buy from a local trusted shop on layaway. They charge you what $35 a week? That's $140 a month - 3 months of that you have the CASH price for a new warranteed in the box machine from your local retailer or chain store. You pay for it in full, have the kid that works there wheel the box to your car and load it, get it home and set it up - all in one day! Then you have control over what the machine has, you've tried a display model of it out, got to see the specs, etc and no $125 BS shipping charges. I doubt these BH nimrods are going to report good standing credit for you anyway (guaranteed they will if you default though) and besides - in most states if you have the credit to have a checking account then you have the credit to put a 10% down payment and use store credit, or to order from an OEM such as HP, Dell, Gateway, etc. By the way - Gateway, and eMachines (another Gateway company) are total junk anymore. HP/Comcrap, Dell, etc all have their problems but they well exceed the cow printed boxed junkers. Acer and Sony are pretty much top of the line anymore, both in quality and support. I know this as my job is computer repair and I see people who think because it's advertised on TV it's legit getting ripped all the time. Most times these "brand new brand name" machines are "B stock" where they have cosmetic problems or have been taken back with defects from retailers then overhauled and sold as new using the loop hole that they have never been sold to a customer rather were damaged or failed as store stock. You think they can advertise every 7 mins during the middle of the day because they are giving you a fair deal? Most networks will put anything on as long as it's not restricted by FCC rules and they could care less if it's a legit business or not as long as they have another ad account. BUY CASH - BUY CASH - BUY CASH Your life will be a lot better not relying on credit scams. These losers wouldnt exist if the bulk of the population used their brains and good common sense and bought cash or used reputable credit sources to finance a purchase at a retailer or direct from the manufacturer.

Ok first anyone buying product from a company that offers low payments and a great product is usually a scam. Blue Hippo uses a check routing number and really could give a crap who's check book you are using. Add the total payments X 12 and you are paying double for what you could get going to any discount retail store. From what I hear they are still in business and now using out of the country back office support. If you have been ripped off by this company or one similiar, I would recomend you get the address off the website, go to the office with you or a local news team and ask the questions and see what they say. It is all commonm sense, but the strong always prey on the weak.

Hello there!! Unfortunately, and fortunately I'm not alone in being scammed by BlueHippo Funding, LLC from Balitmore, MD. I even contacted the Better Business Bureau of Greater Baltimore, MD. I filed a report in full detail with names and what happened to my account - not getting a computer. They contacted BlueHippo Administrators Office and I received a phone call from them within a week. Now, my situation a bit different but same fraud. They have 5 people working the phones - I know I talked to all of them! "Fax your complaint to our Audit Department" is all I got from them. No help! Now - when it comes to "satisfaction guaranteed" from their TV ads - they don't come through. I said I was unhappy as their customer and wanted to request a refund. I was told I had to close my account first to request a refund. After waiting 45 minutes to get the same agent on the phone I've been talking to for the past 4 months (early 04) - I was willing to do that and request a refund. They never called back to tell me if I was approved or not. No they said I can't even get my money because I closed my account??! After the conversation with BBB and a BHippo administrator calling me they said they would only refund one payment of $19.95. I said no that is unacceptable. They told me I signed a non-refundable document but couldn't get a copy of it when I requested it. "The contract" bound the company and customer to rules. They agreed to charge one membership fee and I agreed to make weekly payments. They charged me twice and I requested a refund ever since. They broke their contract with me - so I shouldn't be obligated to continue payment to them and request a full refund since they provided NO SERVICE to me and I received NO PRODUCT from them. The famous Carnegie said, "If you I don't trust you, then you can't do business with me..." I still have not received an update from the BBB and my emails go unanswered. We need to join together and get a suit against them before the go Bankrupt and we get nothing! If you or others get a suit against BlueHippo - CALL ME! Until them hang in there, Shawn

I am a former employee of Blue Hippo, fired for being in possession of pen and paper. During the final few weeks I was there, things appeared to be getting better but I guess not. The owner, a very schizophrenic control freak, actually buys these almost bare bones pcs on his credit card. He at one time was buying dells, but after too many complaints from blue hippo customers, dell stopped selling him systems and reported him for credit card fraud. Some customers who got their systems had operating problems; called Dell and were told they were not the recognized owners of their own pc's, and refused to help them. They (BH) do make an exhorbitant amount of money on these PCs and it would be worth it, in my opinion, if they really can restore or improve your credit score. I do recall one lady saying after she paid off hers, her credit score improved greatly. But believe me, everyone at Blue Hippo is suffering. Your repeated calls, and threats have them stressed, tired and weary. Well any way that's the employees. The Owner is laughing all the way to the bank. He's schizophrenic remember!

Ronda, is the computer a Gateway?

#8Consumer Suggestion

Mon, August 30, 2004

If so...I'd call up Gateway and tell them what happened to you. Tell them it's a disgrace that the company allows its computers to be marked up so much by this scammer. They may be able to work somethign out for you. And keep leaning on Blue Hippo. Call your local TV news. Ask for its consumer reporter, and tell him or her the story. I guarantee...he/she will be interested.

I realized that after I received the system... for one I thought I was getting a flat panel and I only got a flat screen; I don't have a floppy disk; I can't burn cd's and it's a lot of things that aren't included with the computer. So all in all even though I have the computer I do agree the system is EXTREMELY too expensive for what I got.. But at this point I don't know what else I can do.... But not refer the company to anyone that I know interested in getting a computer. For the price that I'm paying I should have a lot more... including a color printer and web cam. So I've literally been screwed!

That even with the $200 credit, you are paying WAAAAAAAY more with Blue Hippo than that computer is worth. You could go to Gateway's website and get that same system for around $700...or less! And they ship UPS, so you can have the system in a couple of days. Or you could save up the $500 or so and go down to Office Depot and pay cash for a computer. In the amount of time it took to send those first seven payments, you could have saved more than enough to buy yourself a complete E-Machine unit. Think about this..you're paying $35 a week for 52 weeks. That's $1820, all together. There's no way that the system BlueHippo sold you is worth that much. Heck..there are some top of top-of-the-line systems that cost less than that.

After the last message that I posted. I received a phone call from both Blue Hippo and Gateway. I am now in receipt of my computer as promised. I was also given a $200 credit for the inconvenience. I still think Blue Hippo has a little work to do in the customer service area because it should've never taken this long to receive my computer, which led me to believe the blue Hippo was ripping off customers. I am now satisfied that I finally received my computer even though it took a lot longer than expected. Hopefully I won't have the same problems getting the credit as promised. Sincerly, Ronda Kelsey

After Blue Hippo has supposedly shipped my computer PRIORITY as of July 19th. To date, I still have NOT received a computer from this company. There was no misunderstanding this was a TOTAL RIP OFF. The only thing this company has offered to do for me is move my payment date (I've been paying for something that BLUE HIPPO is obviously not going to send). I have not received any phone calls after numerous attempts to figure out what is going on with this company. This company has failed AGAIN. My next action as of today will be a civil case and a phone call to Fox 2 Problem Solvers. (Hall of SHAME)

I work doing Gateway tech support. I have the bad habit of having issues with many companies I deal with and would hate to have to quit this job if this company happens too be even close to Gateway. I can't understand how they would steal from people with what their basic system that they are offering is. That system is a $350 U.S. dolaar system. In a year that is $1820 at $35 a week. Now knowing what Gateway can and does offer I made them promise me a system that they cannot deliver. This is for you folks internally. My top secret part. Like I said I have issues with many companies, I just have the habit of giving people and companies one strike. Now I have to admit that I live in an econmically depressed part of the world and have rationalized the benefit I can give the customer outwieghs the hurt or nonpersonal attachment that others within any big company, possibly mine included. It boils down to if this Blue Hippo thieving company and Gateway are even sleeping in the same room in different beds, I have worked my last instant with Gateway. I have no paper education or oppurtunity, but I do have my principals and if it is the case that my company knowingly sells systems to these people that is the last instant keep this job. I will die with nothing, starving or freezing to death before I break My rules. Just the way I Live

Ronda, I'm very sorry for any misunderstanding regarding our program. It seems a few items might not have been clearly presented to you. First of all, BlueHippo Funding does provide quality, brand name products such as Gateway desktops and laptops among others; and we do indeed have a relationship as a reseller with Gateway. Instead of requiring our customers to have good credit histories, we simply ask that they build a credit history with us by making consecutive payments. The ability to make 7 bi-weekly or 13 weekly payments is proof enough for us that a customer is credit-worthy. Once a customer signs up, we immediately send them a Membership Kit, which contains a Shipping Verification Form to confirm their address and verify their order in addition to the full Terms and Conditions of the Agreement. The Terms and Conditions are enclosed in every package and are even referenced on the document that you signed. In the Terms, it clearly states in plain English (not in hard-to-read legalese) that you have to wait 4-6 weeks to receive your computer. Additionally, it clearly states that all payments made are non-refundable. Ronda, for your protection, all phone calls, both in Sales and Customer Service are recorded. If you feel that you were misled about any transaction or part of our program, please call our Customer Service department and they will review all of the recordings. If you were deliberately misinformed by one of our representatives, disciplinary action will be taken with the agent and you will be provided a full, no-questions-asked refund. As a side note, during your phone call on July 19th to our Customer Service department our representative noted your payment history and understanding and added you to a priority shipment list so that you will receive your computer within 10 days. This is clearly not the work of a company out to rip off customers.

I am so sorry for what happpened to you. This company called Financial Alternatives, did the same exact thing to me. When the three months payment was payed to this company, who says after three months payments you will receive your brand new computer, I then started to get suspicious, because number one the price of the computer was very expensive ( they say in the commercial that it is a brand new computer, and was saying it was a DELL BUT I've notice that they have stopped using Dell's name in the commercial). I called up financing alternative and asked them what kind of computer, printer and digital camera I was getting for $1875.00. The computer that I was told I was getting was not even a name brand and it was a cheap knockoff of intel celeleron that only goes for $500, the printer is just a basic color printer that is about $75.00 and the digtal camera is about $150.00. Everything adds up to $725.00, so why am I paying $1,727.00 minus the the $125.00 they charge for shipping and handling. The FBI or other authority needs to look into this situation. Here's what you can do to get your money back, read over your contract that you signed and make sure that the part that says, when you've paid your 7th payment, that you will receive your computer is there in the contract. Please call up your bank and let them know that this company has a breach of contract because you have paid all the money you were supposed to pay before you get the computer and you still haven't gotten it, now that it has been paid and this company is still taking money out off your account even though you've ask them for stop and give you a refund. I thought that I was overracting about my situation with Financing Alternatives, until I came across this website and so other people have posted complaints. I am pretty sure that there will be other complains about Blue Hippo from othr customers, who have yet to find out about this websites. Take care and try out my suggestion.
