If your daughter-in-law is so easy going she should have probably been escorted by someone with more sense. None of this really adds up to a ripoff. Lots of dealerships in Florida and SE have the undercoating added when the car is received in port. Ever heard of a car rusting out from underneath. It happens in Florida from the salt and sand on the road. Salt clings underneath and you may have a hard time washing it out. End result is car rusting out. This is normally listed as an after factory job added on to the price of the car. You of course can either talk the dealership into cutting this cost out, or if it means that much to you special order the car and ask that the undercoating not be applied. If nothing else you can take it somewhere else and have it done for half the price the dealership tacks on. Extended warranty (would you like to supersize that order of fry and drinks). Means additional profit for the dealership. Your daughter in law had the option of saying no, no, no, no, not interested but evidently did not. Life lesson number one - When going to a car dealership know what you want or what you can afford (often two different things). If you go in unprepared you will end up paying more than you want for something you may or may not be happy with.
