Regardless of the useless rebuttals posted you are right to alert others as to a potential safety hazard. If you waste time by contacting American Honda Corp. they will not help either, they will side with the dealer.
It appears that American Honda is more concerned about a bottom line and not about customer service. I own two Honda vehicles and made the mistake of buying a new one this year (my last). Service is most likely the most important aspect of buying an automobile and the dealership represents the company. I purchased mine at Ray Price in Pennsylvania and have experienced various unscrupulous acts which is posted here on ROR.
You may or may not face the same type of treatment at another Honda dealership but, I will not try.
