Burlington Jewelry took $600 of my $900 down payment, and I have NOTHING! Irving Texas
BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!!
My fiance and I noticed a very nice princess cut solitaire in Burlington's display case. We didn't see a matching band to go with it, so Jerry offered to make us a custom ring to go with it. He came up with a design & we agreed on it. I explained that I lived near Houston and he said there would be no problem as he works with out-of-town clients all of the time. Now looking back, we were BAITED quite well. We paid him $900.00 to get the rings made (one band for my fiance and a men's band).
The diamonds were to be purchased later. He said he would fax or email pictures of castings that would cost less than $100 for each ring. Well, we never heard back from Jerry with a fax or email of castings made. I then emailed him. He finally replied that the ring casts were ready and it was towards the end of February!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He again said he would send pictures or a fax, but nothing came (even to this day).
began to get a little worried about this transaction. I have now asked Jerry to simply return our money minus the prices for the ring castings (which we were told would be less than $100 each).
Jerry now states that the costs have soared to $250 each for a total of $500!!! And please remember, we never even seen the first castings to approve anything else being made...certainly not anything costing $500 of my hard-earned money! Jerry finally responded to emails I sent asking for a refund. Despite my request for monies to be expediently refunded to my Visa Card, (twice) his non-customer satisfaction response was that his bookkeeper would send a check.
Jerry's last communication to me was the email from 3/3/08 stating a check would arrive from his bookkeeper, still nothing; no call, email, nor check until today--- A $300 check finally came. This is pathetic!!!!! PLEASE BEWARE of this fraudulent issue!!!! I'd agreed to pay nominal fees for the castings to be made...certainly no more than $100 for each ring when I have nothing in my hands or my mind except bad memories of Burlington Jewelry in the Irving Mall TAKING my $600 just because I seen a nice ring. A very good, and well-known jeweler in Houston advised us that he should have charged us less than $100.
