BUYER BEWARE!!

 

This company is one of the worst I've ever dealt with. I bought a Honda generator from them last month (Feb 5th, 2018). The generator was back ordered (which was not advertised when I bought it). They never emailed me or contacted me to tell me that it was backordered. I had to wait two weeks and call them myself to determine this. After a month of waiting the generator was finally delivered to my residence covered in black ink toner and with a big gouge in the box. I opened the box assuming the damage was superficial and just to the packaging but the $4000+ generator was completely covered in black toner. This shouldn't of been a big deal but their customer service made it like pulling teeth.

I called and talked to one of their reps and was immediately put on hold, I hung up and called again and got a rep that I thought cared about my situation. He couldn't tell me if they could replace the item in a timely fashion, which is what I preferred, but he claimed they would be there tomorrow or Monday to pick up item (it was Thursday night). He promised me a callback in 30 minutes which he never did. I tried calling them back at 9:30pm and their call center was closed. I called them back the next morning, because it's a pain to organize for someone to be at my house to meet with their shippers, and I was under the impression they would be stopping by either that day or on Monday.

The rep I talked to wouldn't tell me anything but that I had to wait for a callback from the other rep who failed to call me the night before. I waited until around noon when I filed a BBB complaint and then tried calling them again. I talked to two different reps before I was finally put on the phone with a manager who proceeded to blame me "for not waiting long enough", mind you they told me they would be by to pick up the generator that day or on Monday, which I did not know which. He said the item was back ordered and would take another 30 days+ to be delivered. At this point I demanded a full refund of purchase price, and a refund of my Goodsam and Roadside assistance as well, which they did. I would hate to be stranded on the side of the road being treated like how they treated me over this simple online sale.

Fast forward to Monday their shippers comes out to pick up the generator and it's determined their call center manager never sent out the lading form and they couldn't accept the package. Camping World also lied to me and said R&L would be able to repackage the generator themselves, of which R&L told me they do not do. I had to wear gloves, and still got toner all over me as I retaped up the package. I also had to re-call Camping World's abysmal customer service department to demand they send me a lading form so R&L freight would even accept the item.

All I wanted to do by filing a BBB complaint was talk to their corporate. When the company responded to the BBB they told me to call their 888 number. I replied I would not be satisfied until I spoke to a corporate Camping World rep. After my response they stuck to their position and forced the BBB to close my complaint.

Camping World is an awful company with the most abysmal customer support I've ever seen. Their CS reps only want to get you off the phone asap and will make whatever promises they can to make that happen. Buyer beware! They lure you in with low prices and then make you wait months to ship the items, which are usually damaged, hence why they can offer the lowest price. If you're buying a RV, generator or accessories go somewhere else.
