If anyone out there is thinking of buying this business Carolinas Cab Co. or doing any kind of business with Peter Ferrigan or his wife Tanya Dunphy you need to read this and know what you are getting yourself into.
First, before you give over one cent to these people you need to do extensive background checks on them. Check bankruptcies if there are any in North and South Carolina, also New York State, then run credit reports on them personally and with Carolinas Cab, also triple check through your attorney or private investigator any and everything they tell you.Second, do a google search on Pete Ferrigan and read through this site Ripoffreport.com and the other ones about the way he does business. If you are considering buying Carolinas Cab you will be glad you did.
Third, go to YorkCountyGov.com and go through the Clerk of Court and you will see that Peter Ferrigan has a judgment against him for $41,368.74. Carolinas Cab has a $14,371.55 judgment against them. It doesn't stop there, his wife Tanya Dunphy has her own debt collection judgment for $103,593.56. No it's not a typo.
You need to do research and find out how this debt relates to any possible sale of Carolinas Cab. Do research on how long this company has been in business, what the verifiable assets are that don't have any liens attached and also do research on the licensing you must have in Charlotte N.C. and Rock Hill S.C. to operate. I made a phone call and I found out that no cab company per Charlotte N.C.'s City Ordinance may operate less than 30 taxicabs and have a license to do business in the City Limits. Check this out thoroughly with the City of Charlotte and not Ferrigan.
