I have personally been on the other end of this Agency's misconduct. In fact, even after the case was "closed" they are still harassing my family. I cannot imagine putting my kids through this anymore. CPS has unlimited power in Texas and can violate citizen's rights with no recourse.

CPS is a state run organization. Not a city run bunch. You have to take to your legislators to get anything done. I find it interesting that there's all this row about the Texas Youth Facility and child abuse and the gov, toll road rick, holds press conferences and fires the whole board and they have hearings. But when it comes to CPS, NOTHING. Children are dying and nothing's being done. Though many CPS workers are trying their best.

I hate to say that the mother may have acted out of her own intrest instead of her own- but that doen't excuse the fact that the ways of San Antonio's CPS office deals with sensitive cases where children are in danger irresponsibly! They are the ones that citizens think to in cases where our hands are tied in bringing justice or protection to the little ones that need the assistance so bad. It is these officers of child protectice services that we call to investigate our suspicions and bring the children thier services with a fair look and knowledge for the high sensitivity it requires. After all it is the protection and the bringing to justice of the guilty that should be the concern and for front of the issue- not the wrong doings of all others involved- however nutty or illogical they maybe. I think that the thing that makes sence to me is that she sought the help and attempted to get the case looked at at the first occurance Which many parents fail to do so at all, which sadly results in these news stories that cry out, "SHAME ON CPS".

After reading your statement, let me admit it hit at the core of my heart. I agree with you in a sence because my sister did reconsile with her husband against my family's opposition. She did so for reasons that she felt that she was jumping to her fears in an effort to protect her children, but after the realization that CPS wasn't viewing her as legitimate and called her a liar, after threats of legal action if case was determined to be unfounded. Well, with out making excuses for her action I only meant to point out the faults of CPS here in San Antonio, indoing so I was truthful in all the issues that were involved how ever self incriminating as they may be. You are justly stating your response and I thank you for it, the more people talking about it and making it an issue of concern the greater the chance of the problem being made of great enough concern to put forth the changes that our city needs. I only wish that our city would put issues such as CPS case investigations and child protection ahead of the renovations of our Alamodome. Is it not a shame? It is really sad to say that we can expect to see more cases as that you spoke of in the future.

We, here in S.A. know CPS sucks. That's a given. The two poor angels who were found beaten to death by their 19 year old mother, who had had her two other children taken away from her, for abuse, prior to the incident, by CPS. CPS was suppose to have made something like 40 "attempted" visits to the apartment, but no one answered the door. What I find hard to believe about this post is: here is a mother making charges/statements to CPS, about child abuse by the father and then WHAT DOES SHE DO? "SHE LATER "RECONSILLED" WITH HER HUSBAND". HOW SICK IS THAT? She suspects child abuse and moves back in with him. Then you go on to state: " now further suspicion drove her away AGAIN". Here we are at a later date and you expect CPS to get involved in your sister's divorce. You sister sounds as screwed up as her husband. She put her own feelings in front of the well being of her children. Proven by her going back with a man she suspected of abusing her children. Go ahead, tell me I'm wrong. What a bunch of nutcases.
