Hello, I have been working for Circuit City for over 4 years. Never have we discriminated against anyone. There are items on our website that are only available for instore pick up. These are clearly posted by the items on our website. It could be possible that the item you wanted to purchase was one of these items (sold in store only) or it could have been out of stock at the warehouse it would have been shiped from. If the purchase would have been made online anyone of your family or friends or anyone that you know could have picked it up. All you would have done is called in advance to let the customer service people know. David Customer Service Guru

First you stated: "They practice switch and bait by not telling customers there are exceptions to this policy." Then you stated: "I found at check-out this was a pick-up at the store item." Clearly they DID inform you that this item was only available for pick-up at the store. If this was not convenient for you, then you had every opportunity to purchase this product elsewhere. Or, like the rest of America, you would have (a) asked a friend or family member to pick it up for you, (b) taken a taxi or bus to the store to pick it up yourself, or (c) hired a private courier to pick it up and conveniently drop it off at your place of residence. Furthermore, I am curious what you mean by "switch and bait" (by the way, the correct euphemism is "bait and switch"). At what point in the transaction did they try to upsell you to a product that you did not want? It clearly sounds as though the item you wanted WAS in stock and available for in-store pickup, and that the store WAS willing to sell it to you at the stated price.

"Sale" items are exceptions, and I am sure there is an asterick or two around. Special deals often come with special terms, and one way they are likely able to offer a lower price is to make it pick-up only. You weren't able to complete the online purchase, and no money was lost. Hail a cab. Have a friend pick up the item for you. Work around your limitations rather than giving others in your position a bad name by being unreasonable and self-righteous. The world does not cater to you. Circuit City is not engaged in a conspiracy against the disabled.
