u can go to the store and asked them to refund ur account if it was an in store pick up order....just take ur order # with u...or u can wait ...normally around this time of the year Merchants have alot of transactions to handle so it can take that long to get ur money back b/c they are backed up with orders that have been cancelled.....but I suggest going to the store instead of calling b/c it is shopping season and most store phone lines are tied up or tere is no one immidiately to answer...

How to manage Circuit City

Couple of things on dealing with CC, the local stores have no power to resolve any banking issues. Even if you got someone, you would simply be ignored or transferred to a customer "service" rep who's job is to say "no" to your request. This has gotten worse at CC in the past year or so since they fired all their senior sales staff. (It was done as a cost cutting move by their CEO.) Couple of ground rules when dealing with them, first (this is the hardest) don't loose your cool - they will say they can't help, you just keep asking to speak to the person who has the authority to help. My experience was'that it took about an hour+ to get someone who had the resources to address the problem. Second, Circuit City HQ is in VA, that is where you want to end up if you can. You can get some numbers from the net to contact them if Cust Serv can't help. You also indicated that you used a bank card. CC uses Chase to handle the CC transaction associated with Credit Card purchases, probably with debit as well. That is where your money is tied up I suspect - ask the name of the institution who is handling the debit card process. Chase was clearly low-bid and they will attempt to shell game you on what they can't do and you will be told CC has to clear it and CC will tell you it is Chase's fault. Incidentally, Chase told me that they HAD to wait because their computers only ran certain processes at certain times of the day and the couldn't speed them up. Unless you are an IT-geek and can tell them why that is an incorrect answer (and it is a stupid answer), the better response is to simply indicate you don't need or care to know about their internal "issues," only how to get you money back. Here are a couple of things you may want to do. First, go to your bank and dispute the transaction if you can. Let them know what is going on and ask for advice/help. Some banks re-post the amount to your account, not all though. The second thing is to remember that banks are regulated by the state. It should take no longer than 24 hrs to process ANY banking transaction electronically, that is how fast the Federal Reserve processes an electronic transfer. So, check into filing a formal complaint with the State Banking Commission as well as the State Attorney General against CC and/or Chase if they are the bank the local CC is using. I'd let both CC and Chase (or whomever is processing the card transaction) know you are going to do that as a matter of prudent business practice. Just ask for who their Registered Agent is in you state so you can fill out the paperwork correctly. Again, it isn't personal so don't threaten, just indicate what you need the info for. Don't be surprised if CC or Chase trys to tell you that you can't or that you have to do other things first. Just let them know that the Atty Gen will let you know if you are doing it wrong. What is going on here is that Chase is earning money on the "float" which is your money and a lot of other CC customers money that is placed in overnight interest bearing accounts. The longer they can hold on, the more interest they earn. Someone is earning interest on the money and if it isn't you... Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
