Wanda, Call/go to your county courthouse where you father's home is and ask for the department that handles liens on real property. You should be able to get a copy of the lien as it is public record, Deal with the company that hold the lien in writing only. You may need to seek the advice of a real estate lawyer, depending on the complexity of the situation. Most lawyers will do a free consulation and this can be a good way to get some direction on how to proceed. You may have to hire the lawyer on a per hour fee basis to have the matter properly handled. Please write back as a rebuttal at the bottom of this page, and let me know if this helped you. Good luck!
