Clown Monkey Clown Monkey Clothing Internet Job Fraud San Diego, California
I applied to a remote customer service job with this company on Dec. 15th. I was sent an email instructing me to post on their website to better "introduce myself".
At first I was only shocked at how this economy is forcing job seekers into these humiliating interview situations. Out of curiosity I visited www.clownmonkeys.com
Apparently this company had posted on craigslist.org in several cities. (why not just post locally, and get a local candiate? Just posting in CA would have yielded hundreds of resumes.) It became apparent to me right away that this was an attempt to either data mine, or just send an incredible amount of traffic to this website.
I had tried to post in the forum asking pointed questions about this position. Where qualifications are you looking exactly? What is the pay rate or hours for this position? When would this job start? My posted were filtered out, as were my rremarks about the website not actually selling any product.
I work in ecommerce. I am also a small business owner, I know, for a fact, this business, in this climate, will not need this much CSR help. Selling hokey shirts on the internet? Lets be real, this can easily be a 2 man operation. But that is neither here nor there.
As thousands of qualified people post on their forums with resumes, photos, videos, ect. This company continues to post jobs. Your telling me non of the 7,000 applicants met your requirements? Or are you just looking to pull in more internet traffic to this website?
All I no is a month later, no one has been hired, but thousands more people know about this weird website. At least they are good marketers...
