compuplus NY Closeout DVD scam, Internet
I recently bought the BBC blue ray series "life" from compuplus. These DVDS were stated as a new "closeout" item but once I received it I found out it was an opened item.
I realized the real scam once I tried playing the disks. Each disk had the BBC intro titles but then went to black; no menus, chapters or other video content could be found. I looked at the bottom of each disk to find out there was only a tiny portion of video burned on each dvd, basically they sent me blank dvds.
When I contacted compuplus they said they will not refund my money or replace the disks with new ones due to the dvds being a "closeout" item. They told me I had to contact the distributor of the movie, something impossible to do.
I reported them to my credit card company and the better business bureau.
