The website for Consumer's Guide purports to provide unbiased reviews. It posted a report for eyelash enhancers that seemed to rate several different products giving the highest rating to a product called "Citylash." The report contained a link to purchase Citylash but did not provide any links to purchase the second or third rated product. When you click the link to the full report you are brought to a page offering a "special" deal on Citylash only available to users of Consumer's Guide.
I became suspicious and sought more information. Apparently, this website is owned by Craig Clemens with an address in Beverly Hills. A search of the name reveals that, per a brief bio on a website discussing an Esquire reality TV show entitled "Lucky Bastards," Craig Clemens is a cosmetics executive.
Given Mr. Clemens occupation and the suspicious link between the Consumer's Guide website and the Citylash cosmetics website, I concluded that the supposedly "independent" review of the Citylash product is bogus and managed to avoid being ripped off for at least $50.00.
