Emster, NEVER EVER use a moving broker. What happened to you is EXACTLY the reason why you don't use a broker. You bill goes up, you don't get reweighs, and your stuff gets destroyed. The broker has no responsibility to you whatsoever; they did theirs by finding you a mover. More importantly, if the broker assigns you a mover like Cross Country, and you refuse, you're out of luck. Cross Country was the one who won the bid on the broker's online bid to do your move. Moving is not an inexpensive venture and choosing a broker is the best way to lose out on a lot of money. Next time - DON'T use a broker.
