Cutter Recovery Services Direct Withdrawal Fraud Edmonton Alberta
Hi.
I woke up this morning and was heading out to the lake for the day. I stopped off at Petro Can to fill-up my tank and by a thing of oil. When I went to pay for it with my debit, I was told I had insufficient funds. I could not understand this, as I knew I had about $400 in my chequing account.
I was very fortunate that a friend happened by and helped me with paying for the tank of gas.
Instead of heading to the lake, I came back home to do Internet banking to investigate what was going on. It turns out that a company clled Cutter Recovery Services had tried to withdraw a cheque for $476 from my account, making me overdrawn.
I had never heard of this company in my life, and since it's a Saturday I could not talk directly to anyone with Scotia Bank.
That's when I did a search and came across this site. In an odd way it is comforting to know that I am not the only person that this type of fraudulent act has perpetrated on by this company. I will definitely use the advice posted here in dealing with my bank first thing on Monday morning.
This is a fantastic site, and now I feel like I have support. I will update this posting once I speak with my bank.
