dtv could care less about customer service. after 3 yrs working with the company they more than proved that. the bonuses are just as big a ripoff as the ads for the various discounts they offer.
people, please please please, if you value your hard earned money stay away from directv.
watching tv is a privilege, not a necessity. don't throw away your money.

Ok, I happen to have noticed that "Shayna" has ironically rebutted just about every complaint about DirecTv... for years!
She's listed as a "consumer", yet in several other posts references to herself as an employee.
All I have to say is that if DirecTv is so pathetic they have to hire some ghetto person who has worse grammatical skills than my 10 year old to rebut every complaint, it's time to close their doors!
Sorry "Shayna", it's pretty obvious you're sitting in some DirecTv office being paid to be their goon.

Just FYI. I am an ex-employee of PRC, LLC, which is the company who handles most of DirecTV's outsourced call center resources. Another major one is VXI. I have no idea why you wouldn't be willing to publish these company's names. They are just as crooked as DirecTV is, if not more.
These "employees" who are attacking this post are dilusional. Everthing he's saying is 100% true regarding DirecTV and their outsourcers. You people either have deeper business interests in one of these companies or you are just too stupid to realize what's happening there. That's just a fact.

i have copies of all of my rules and regulations. none of which include what you are describing.....because, "they have the right to make up rules as they go along!" while, what directv is doing, may be legal, because of a play on words, it is certainly immoral. i don't have to defend myself to you and that is why i took this to the court of public opinion.
people, please continue to voice your complaints! these people are deceptive, underhanded and yes, they will steal your money if you list a credit card or check account info. don't fall for it.

to the ex employee- as far as bonuses not being paid out to you, they are paid out if you meet the criteria, which is based on your stats, if you fall below the minimum level within a certain period of time on 2 of them, you won't qualify or if you get written up you won't qualify. for you to say undisclosed makes no sense, it's all very clear and i get mine every single month as most reps do that do their job. you got "screwed" out of disability on fmla, well directv has nothing to do with that. fmla does not require you to get paid disability benefits, you have to sign up for that with your insurance. you get short term or long term disability and you will then get paid, otherwise you just have job protection under fmla.

you stated when customers call directv they are speaking to a third party company, not always. there are other companies that are used but i work at a directv owned site and they sign my checks, not a third party company. there are many directv owned sites out there so that statement is not accurate.
as far as the systems going down frequently, in the 3 1/2 years i have been there it's only happened maybe 3 or 4 times so it's not often.
with local channels, they are available almost everywhere, not just fairly big cities. i hardly ever come across an area that is not able to get locals anymore, and the ones that can't it states they will be available in sept or oct 2010.
it's not required for us to have the customer's acct number to pull up the account. we ask for their phone number. if that does not work, we can use last name and zip if they don't have the acct number.
service calls are not $70 they are $49.95 and have been for a long time now.
are you sure you work for directv? it sounds to me like you don't know much at all about the company.

I just don't think i could have said that any better. i don't know how long you have been with the company but i was with them for 3 yrs....was promised bonuses i never got because i didn't meet some undisclosed critiria.
was screwed out of my disability even after being approved for fmla.
you sound like an intelligent person and only wished that i could have worked with someone as compassinate as you.
i wish you all the best and hope that your intelligence & compassion leads you to a more reputable company.
