DiscountBookSale - DBS Books 989-7400 - HBS 989-7400 - HotBookSale This Company charged me $29.95 for a monthly membership fee and $1.00 momthly processing fee without clearly indicating these fees. Boca Raton Florida
I bought two books totaling $27.79 which I received in a timely manner. But they also charged me a $1.00 processing/shipping fee and a $29.95 membership fee and a $1.00 processing fee. The charges appeared on my credit card as DBS BOOKS 866-707-5858 - 561-989-7400, FL for the membership, SMTSVGSCTR800-511-6538 - 561-989-7400, FL for the shipping fee and SMTSVGSCTR800-511-6538 - 561-989-7400, FL for the shipping fee.
The membership and processing fee appeared on my credit card the next month as well.
When I contacted them, they said the membership fee was clearly explained on their web site. The fees do or explanation of the membership rules do not appear on their home page, just that the prices are member prices. Further, they explained that one can cancel the membership without a fee within three days of signing up! Of course I did not realize the expenses until I received them on my credit card bill.
They finally offered to credit one month of the membership fee and one $1.00 fee. But since I didn't contact them until 2 days after the my second statement was posted, but not yet received in the mail, they refused to credit the second membership fee.
