I swear under penalty of perjury that, as the author of the October 4, 2010 posting made above, I completely retract the entire posting without reservation. The statements made are completely untrue. I regret the language and words that were used. I apologize for the offensive nature of the above posting. The management at LinkUs really are good people who do great work. As a soon to be ex-employee, I can state without any reservations that Linkus and most of its management team is dirty and crooked. Most employees there are looking to get out and move on, the rest are taking advantage of the loose enviroment at Linkus, most of the sales employees drink and smoke marijuana on the job and while driving company vehicles. They are notorious for getting wasted at promotional events. Several times employees were offered certain pay by supervisors, then as soon as they got their new paystub, we found out that the amount is different and there is NOTHING they will do about it. What can we do? A little pay raise is better than no raise. Almost everybody who is a tech has the same story. The owners will often hire employees from competitors - even when there is not enough work for us, the current techs, just to spite their competitors. Any issues brought up to Abos(HR) are swept under the table, with the employee bringin up the complaints often being the one eventually forced out. The owners are some of the worst offenders, DM has repeatedly dipped his pen in the company ink... Even when the ink he has been dipping into was an employee and is married to one of his other employees. The lack of ethics is not only internal, Linkus has also been defrauding its customers without remorse. It's also common knowledge that DM has propositioned customer's wifes and girlfriends for sexual favors in exchange for removing charges for work done on Home Theatre installations. They will have us install product that is less expensive than what was quoted to the customer. A lot of product is installed inside walls, so customer's dont know what is installed. Somebody from sales told me that they were actually thinkin of not installing subs in a development in Fresno, if the customer noticed something missing then they would have us install the missing sub and say it was a tech's mistake. This is just shady and it makes the techs look bad. There is no ethical line individuals at Linkus are not willing to cross for their own benefit. Others in that organization JT, BP, TM are aware of the enviroment that is fostered and creates a very oppressive climate for decent employees, but do nothing more than look for their own and Linkus's best interests. For all those who are aware of Linkus's practices it has been disappointing to see the affiliation with the Celebrity Shoot Out down in Fresno, and I thought that Anderson was bad.

The 2 fsm's at the Redding shop both hate each other. All of us techs are tired of it. Who knows maybe they will both bash eachother enough and both get fired. Hand that FSM position to a man who could truely handle it.

Just fyi, Jon Warren (one of the owners) was sentenced for illehally hunting in Nevada back in 2005.
CARSON CITY, Nev. - An illegal deer hunt in Nevada has proven costly for two California men who were sentenced to jail, fined and ordered to forfeit the equipment used when they killed a four-point buck in 2005. Jon Warren, 40, of Redding and Alan Jeffers, 57, of Anderson were sentenced Wednesday in Nye County after being convicted of illegally possessing a mule deer, a gross misdemeanor, a Nevada Department of Wildlife spokesman said. The two men were ordered to forfeit their truck, flatbed trailer, all-terrain vehicles, firearms and other equipment, the spokesman said. Warren was sentenced to 45 days in jail; Jeffers was given 60 days. Both were fined $500 and put on probation for three years.

I too am an ex-employee. this place is horrible. i had an accident in a linkus truck. passed the drug test, was told the company insurance could no longer cover me. my vehicle was not up for the task. i was let go.
attempted to get un-employment. the fsm told the un-employment office that i failed the drug test. so now im in the appeal process, and seeking help from nevada law offices.
i would like to know the details of the attempt to start a union. and also let others know that there are at least 6-8 techs from the Reno/Sparks area that are ready to stand up!
we all need to come together some how and figure this out. strength in numbers.

You are so true "tired of the crap", why should we stick around and work for linkus while there are plenty of other high paying jobs here in Redding. Who would stay around and endure this kind of hard work? Too bad our fearless leader, tech chris 4404, couldnt get that union started for us. what a bummer! that wouldve gave us back the shop and shown linkus who's boss. Jeez, i guess i'll be at reporting to linkus early at 7am tomorrow. Chris gave it a good shot though. thanks

After reading all the above complaints, and knowing my own dealings with Linkus, why don't we take the above advice and get together and fight! Why should we stay in a job where we are treated this way, knowing it is wrong and illegal?? In addition to the class action suit already against them, we should fight for what we are still going through. I have spoken with the guys that work with me and they too are willing to stand up.

Their shady business practices don't just apply to technicians, but to dispatchers as well. Supervisors parade customers through the office while speaking about how dispatchers are paid lower than average wages for their positions, giving 9.00 an hour for a job that Dish pays 18.00 an hour for, and trying to play off the high turnover rates as seasonable employment rather than employees quitting due to the mountain of mistreatment from supervisors. I've seen people written up for being eight minutes late, even after they've called in and the supervisor said it would be okay. There's also a huge amount of favoritism, as some employees who do very little work receive raises while others (not including myself) who work incredibly hard are told that the company "doesn't have funds for their raise."
Overall the entire company in the Dish Networks section is corrupted and abuses their employees. I've also seen the aforementioned lies in regards to completed service calls, as jobs will be closed out at the end of the day even if the tech had never gone to the job. There's also some days where techs are overburdened with jobs and still forced to pull forward jobs that are assigned to later days when a job is rescheduled or canceled for the day.

My friend I can definitely agree. I am a current employee of a company called Wired Inc. WE are owned by Linkus, currently and we were at one time LinkUs ourselves. Please be patient as I break down the organization.... You have LinkUs in Redding and in Fresno Ca (The Fresno office is where the main owners go every day). there are several divisions of this set up all the way up to oregon. The three owners and one ex-wife has sole ownership of LinkUs providing the Dish network services to all of you. They also have an umbrella management company called ABOSS, they manage all of the businesses. Then there is Wired Inc that was at one time until recent was LinkUs but the name was changed because they also did Cable TV for Time Warner,Charter and did not want to violate their contract with Dish.In short get busted, Not to mention they were being sued already. Are you with me so far???..... Wired (LinkUs) has now aquired a contract with Direct TV LA over by Los Angeles International Airport while STILL operating as LinkUs for Dish even now! Talk about arrogant! Same four owners same old cover.....ready for more??? Wired (Linkus) is also doing FIO's and copper for Verizon as a prime Contractor and working under liscense for Time Warner.Talk about greedy bastards. They currently have a judgement to pay $381,000 to us for cheating us out of wages and lunch periods 2006 and 2007.And I have proof..... When it comes to racism that is another whole story....three weeks ago I heard about them removing two African American managers and their relatives as retaliation after the Owner called them cockroaches. "John" the surrogate owner and racist called the two managers cockroaches in front of their management team. He knew he screwed up and decided to fire them and used a horrible reason. Those guys were fair and did a good job taking care of us and we trusted them. Never a short paycheck or nothing until last week and today as we are paid every Wedsday. For last week and this week they now owe me around $800.00 So I do not expect my money ever as he will remove me as well if I am persistent. David Baird is a drug addict and Roberto, Leonard, Jeremy and John Dailey are puppets. Three of he owners are located in Fresno Calif, and one in Redding.

While i've personally witnessed the actions that have been encountered at LinkUs, I also agree that this information is true. I've witnessed the sexual harrassment at a company event and was used as a "rock" so to speak between one of the owners (H.G.) and an employee who felt very uncomfortable by his actions and the forthcoming situations. With "hella's" comments regarding the "editing" of documents; this is also true. While some FSMs handle the situations differently; either by refusing submission of timecards that are deemed "incorrect" by upper management and require changes be made prior to submittal, back to the technicians so they may edit them themselves...other FSMs choose to "edit" timecards themselves which requires them to forge signatures in the process. While I wasn't aware of discrimination of race, religion, gender or status from a technician's workplace, I usually received the brunt "venting" from numerous processor personel who had informed me of certain team leaders "playing favorites" or having the few "black sheep" who were always picked on for one thing or the other. Usually the accusations towards the "black sheep" were false and out of spite towards that individual. Technicians and the labor board? Although it isn't really that funny, it's true. If you go into the labor office in Redding and mention "LinkUs". They will automatically know who your talking about. Past experience, even the guy who moved to Redding from Fresno knew what company I worked for. It should almost be a basic rule by how long this has been going on for. If you work for LinkUs as a technician, go to the labor board; they'll sue the company and LinkUs will lose. Why? They know there in the wrong and yet, they don't seem to care. I've witnessed dozens of Redding technicians filing claims and winning there money back. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the greed of the company either thinks that it'll cost them too much money to do the right thing, or they think that it's cheaper to pay off a few techs rather than all of them. I'm sure there are quite a few techs out there that decided it wasn't worth it to sue, and for those, the company doesn't have to pay out for their lawsuits....so in a sense....they win? Odd isn't it.

hate to hear all that. I would definitely let Gov. Schwarzenegger's office know of these violations and also the California Attorney General's office. After that, instead of asking a lawyer to step up to the plate by suggesting they could get a chunk of change off of it, why not try to get yourself a lawyer with your Tech friends and anyone else in the company. IF you do this, you can not be fired during the legal process or you will likely win your case. Good Luck and i hope it works out for you!!

Everything in the report is true. There was one thing left out sexual harrassment. The only way to keep your job with this company is to do what you are told and keep your mouth shut. If you report the lies, cheating, stealing, harrassment, ect.to your superior, or the owners just seek employment elsewhere, you are on your way out. Management is trained by a person who spends all day everyday looking for ways to make money, at the expense of anything and anyone. Cover up everything is the way the management works. Dishnetwork should look into the practices of this rip-off company.
