Under FEDERAL Law, you have 60 days from the date the transaction was first billed to dispute it. $6.95 is hardly worth throwing a fit over and cancelling a card, etc.. All you had to do was dispute it in writing and ask to see what you signed to authorize it. Done. With credit cards you have to read all fine print when accepting a new card or taking anything promotional. This is where they throw this stuff in. It is perfectly legal. Now that you have closed the account, it is unlikely you will get a refund. Maybe $6.95 is worth going to small claims for, or was it $23?
