Well let me tell everyone..........if you threaten the company with true legal action your money will be refunded to you. I filled this complaint against this crap-o-la company after selling me a lemon vehicle. Well after I had a representative with me during an abusive mjeeting (which we taped recorded) they physically put there hands on us and threatened to have us arrested for complaining. Well 2 days later guess what I picked up my check for the crap-o-la vehicle. And not 1 month later guess what the vehicle was resold to some poor individuals in Jourdanton, TX. I only know this becasue my adoptive father is a tow truck driver and he picked this vehicle up after it lost it's drive shaft while the folks were driving it and it still had a few of my papers in it. Not only was it resold ASAP it was never fulling cleaned out.

Before you start trashing a used car lot for selling a piece of junk that as a consumer should have checked before hand, its not the car and not even really the price of the car IT'S THE CONTRACT you sign if you look closely you will see that the contract is designed to make you pay all your interest first then you principal last, that is why everyone that's signs a contract with Drive Time cant trade it in until the last quarter of the term. Sorry I have no remorse for stupid people. Most every body I know looks at little things like how much did I pay for lunch or when they get there change from something they bought for five bucks and complains about a dollar missing or fifty cents, but yet when it comes to a major buy like a house or a car you just sign your life away not even questioning the contract. I'm not on Drive Times side on these, because they are the biggest rip-offs in the car industry that know but, please read everything you sign, its your a*s not there's. P.S. there is no such thing as a LEMON LAW on used vehicles.

Chris is exactly right in every way. But to the person who placed the report....did you bother to check out the vehicle BEFORE you bought it? Did you use your own mechanic to check it? If you knew the value of the car, then why did you agree to the deal? Forget the BBB, they are useless. (And if anyone from the BBB is reading this, then tough! Your organization IS useless!) Learn from this experience. Pay your bills, do your homework and use a mechanic of your choosing to check out a used car BEFORE you buy it. If you fail to do these FUNDAMENTAL things, (its your responsibility), then there's nobody to blame but Y-O-U!

I do sympathize with the problems you have had with your vehicle, however I am an ex-employee for the mediation department and have listened to many of these same types of stories. While I am now willing to help many individual who are having legitimate problems with their vehicles from this company, your story leaves much to be desired. You signed a contract for a vehicle from this company and feel that they should carry you through every little up and down. In the state of Texas and in every other state in the U.S.A. the lemon laws only apply to NEW vehicles covered under manufacturer warranty. In your specific state of Texas Ugly Duckling aka DriveTime abides under the states usury laws. While I don't agree with the approaches that some of the employees use they are still within their legal right. You will soon find that when DriveTime Customer Relations responds to your complaints through the various agencies that the same decision was made. Those same agencies will not be able to pursue any further then a simple complaint form. I know this because I used to handle the Texas Region for Ugly Duckling Customer Relations. My advise to you is very simple, Pay your bill, fix your car, and Once you are at a positive equity in your vehicle trade it in for something newer from a reputable car dealership. But please do not try to defame a company that has provided you a second chance to build your credit.

Just to let EVERYONE know-if these FRAUDS treat you badly or better yet rip you off-contact your Attorney Generals office, the Office of the Consumer Credit Commisioner, the news, and the Better Business Bureau. I did this here in TEXAS and guess what they are wondering why, they were none to happy to know that I am not going to let them screw me without any lube-hopefully enough reports about these fraudulent losers will shut down there business.
