I was attracted by an unbelievably low priced mini cooper on craigslist for $4600 - when I contacted them they said they had to sell the car immediately due to military tour of duty which was to take place in the next few days.
(Ashley) said she felt the only way to do the deal was to use ebay vehicle protection purchase plan and that she would have them contact me with all the details. She said that they would hold the money for 5 days after i received shipment of the car and if i didn't like it I could send back the car and not pay anything. I thought great.
When I got an email from ebay it was from an address that was like
[email protected] and there is no such address . . . and although the page looked just like an ebay page - the instructions were to send a moneygram which ebay and craigslist tell you never to do.
Thankfully my wife and I saw this and became quite weary and stopped the whole deal.
Please be careful and tell your friends if anything seems to be too good to be true IT IS!
