Ashley Smith Or Larry Pullins ebay/craigslist vehicle protection scam - offers mini cooper at unbelievable price and says they must sell immediately due to military orders 1524 10th Ave Great Falls, Montana 59405 Also 561 Smithbridge Road, Glen Mills Pennsylvania 19342
I was attracted by an unbelievably low priced mini cooper on craigslist for $4600 - when I contacted them they said they had to sell the car immediately due to military tour of duty which was to take place in the next few days.
(Ashley) said she felt the only way to do the deal was to use ebay vehicle protection purchase plan and that she would have them contact me with all the details. She said that they would hold the money for 5 days after i received shipment of the car and if i didn't like it I could send back the car and not pay anything. I thought great.
When I got an email from ebay it was from an address that was like [email protected] and there is no such address . . . and although the page looked just like an ebay page - the instructions were to send a moneygram which ebay and craigslist tell you never to do.
Thankfully my wife and I saw this and became quite weary and stopped the whole deal.
Please be careful and tell your friends if anything seems to be too good to be true IT IS!

Maybe it is my criminal justice background or maybe my German-Mexican father who was a CPA auditor who was called in to catch the embezzlers and financial crooks in corporations worldwide... In any case, when I saw the establishment of "eCommerce" I saw a golden opportunity for the hackers to steal money from online accounts and credit card numbers and for the scamsters, crooks and no-goods to con the unwary and idiots who put their awe of this electronic wonder in place of their own good common sense. DO NOT PUT YOUR FINANCIAL BUSINESS ONLINE. DO NOT PUT YOUR PERSONAL IDENTITY ONLINE EITHER --FOR INSTANCE, YOUR AGE, DATE OF BIRTH, SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, DRIVERS LICENSE NUMBER,PHYSICAL STREET ADDRESS AND LANDLINE TELEPHONE NUMBER! ( If I have your name and date of birth, I will be able to get the rest of your information so don't give out ANY of it because the CROOKS will be able to get it too, and probably faster and better than I would so WATCH OUT! I don't steal. They do!) IF IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY IS. STOP THE GREED -- QUESTION THE NEED! eBay is a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY to move stolen merchandise, false advertising, etc. with not a hell of a lot of accountability. That is why I only deal with local businesses OR I send my payments to bricks and mortar addresses that I have checked out in advance and I only use US Postal Orders to pay for things. Therefore, I have the PROTECTION of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT if somebody tries to rip me off. USE COMMON SENSE AND DON'T GET GREEDY! CON MEN PREY UPON YOUR GREED AND LACK OF HONESTY! THE ONLY WAY YOU ARE GOING TO GET A GOOD BARGAIN IS TO SHOP YOUR LOCAL OUTLET STORES!
