On Feb.7, I called them to see if I can get a health insurance. A lady on the phone says I could have it for (about) 135/mo. She also started to ask me about dental insurance "which is included into "135/mo" -and so was life insurance. (I can't rememebr discussing about life insurance to he honest but I know she said the fees were "included" in 135/mo. so I gave her my bank account information.
While still on the phone, she had me go to their website to fill out application form and before the application actually completed and approved (for ObamaCAre), she hung up. The next moment the website is telling me the monthly payment would be 416 dollars and it will be withdrawn from my bank account starting on Apr.1.
I contacted them right away and canceled it. I also put that on Twitter. And Emailed them also. I received the reply to my email telling me it was cancelled.
On May1, I received an email from my bank telling me my account was overdrawn and they charged me 29 dollars overdraft fee. It was the life insurance company who took my money. I contacted them (both life insurance company and ehealth right away and complaind. Life insurance company told me they never received the cancellation from me and in order to cancel it I have to send them a written letter and they would refund me. I sent them a letter but I did not get refund.
Ehealth started to say unless I know what the phone number of the broker was, the can't help me. I told them they should have the recording of it. But the wouldn't help. Not only that, they started to say the don't deal with that particular life insurance company. (really? )
I even tried live chat on their website a few times. They all gave me the same phone number which is good ONLY if you are looking for an insurance or an existing customer. It got nowhere. When I complaind about it for the last time, they told me to call health insurance comapny Optima which the broker initially tried to sell me. That was the most stupid thing I have heard.
I find them very devious and unetical.
