My name is Tameka xxxxxxxxxx and I want to complain about Esco Motor Cars Inc. I saw a Ripoff Report by a woman named Missy today about Esco. I believe everything that she said about this company, because something similar recently happened to me. My husband and I went to Esco on Monday, November 3, 2008 to inquire about purchasing a vehicle. We had recieved 2 calls from one of their representitives asking us to come in earlier that day after we had been approved for a loan online. The sales man and manager were very nice and very helpful. Although they offered to give us a vehicle to take home and test out that night we declined because we were not sure if we wanted to purchase the vehicle or not. My husband and I were asked to leave a totally refundable deposit of $200.00 dollars that night. We left the deposit because we were told by the manager that the funds would be put pack on my credit card within 30 seconds if we decided that we did not want the vehicle. Two days later, on Wednesday my husband called the salesman and told him that we probably wanted the vehicle, but we would make a definite decision on Saturday and would put a down payment on the vehicle at that time. To our dismay we hit a few road blocks and decided that we could not afford to purchase a vehicle at this time. My husband called Esco and told them that we could not take the vehicle and asked for our deposit back. My husband was told that we commited to buying the car and would not get a refund. I then called an hour later and the salesman that we worked with said that my deposit was refundable, but the manager had to be the one to refund it. The salesman said that the manager would call me back. I called back 5 hours later because the manager had not called me. The person that answered the phone took my name and number and said that the manager would call me back. My husband and I called about 8 times over the next few days and mysteriously could never get in contact with the "one mamager" that could authorize the refund. One manager actually told me that my $200.00 had been spent when they got me approved by the bank. He also said that he did not know which manager I worked with and would tell the salesman to have that manager call me back. Eventhough this manager claimed not to know the manager that I originally worked with he knew a lot about my husband and myself and even mentioned that we had too many excuses as to why we could not take the vehicle. When the manager told me that my deposit had been spent on my approval from the bank I found that to be odd because we had been approved before I gave them the $200.00 or even agreed to come and meet with them.

My husband and I have decided not to waste our time by calling and leaving messages anymore. We are going to try to get our money back in another way. I am very dissapointed by the way my husband and I were treated by this company. I should have thought twice about leaving my "refundable" deposit.
