We bought a new car and the local dealer sold us GAP coverage (covers the balance of the loan in the event of a total loss) and extended warranty coverage (mechanical breakdown).

We had to pay for the service 100% upfront which we added to our loan. The car was in an accident and totaled. We contacted Ethos so we could file for GAP coverage and also cancel the extended warranty since we only had it less than half the term.

 

They mad us fill out endless paperwork and also go to the dealer to sign a cancel request. Now a month later they have not paid us anything on the GAP coverage and still no refund on the cancelled extended warranty. They say we have to call the dealer and the dealer says we need to call them. Back and forth every day they point fingers at each other and say they are responsible.

 

Every day I have to pay more interest on the balance on the car loan because they refuse to send the money back so I paid for this coverage and now that it's time for them to pay out they play games and don't give a straight answer.

 

ALL I want is the $1000 they owe so I can be done with the headache. 

 

I will never do business with these people. I am glad I never had a claim on the extended warranty I would hate to think how they handle that.

 

BAD BAD business practices.
