I opened a credit card with First Premier Bank Card a little over a year ago with the intent to establish credit. I used the card a couple of times and paid the balances in full. I realized that my credit was beginning to look great and decided that I no longer needed the credit card due to all of it's misc. expenses. First, there were the random auto draft fees. The crazy late fees that they could not explain and the ridicuolus annual fee and participation fees. I paid the balance in full in April and cut the card up. I opened my mail this month and I had a ridicuolus bill for 90 dollars! I was shocked. I called to see what the charges were for and sure enough, they had billed participation fees, annual fees and a late fee for not paying the 54 cent participation fee.

Yeah, you read it correctly...a $25.00 late fee for not paying 54cents!!! I told them to close the account. The representative was rude as usual and told me that in order to close the account, I had to pay the fees. I explained to her that I refused to pay those fees especially since I had not been using the card for months and had paid the balance in full as of April. After what seemed like hours of arguing, she waived the monstrous fees but told me I still had to pay the $25.00. By this time, I was IRATE!!! I told her there was no way I was going to pay $25.00. I explained to her that I had one other credit card with a $5,000 limit and was never asked to pay any ridicuolus fees. I explained to her that I had already built my credit and found the card useless and a rip off! She still refused to help ao I demanded that I speak with someone else or they would be speaking with my attorney. She told me that if i did not pay the $25.00 they would destry my credit. Unbelievable!!!

(Ok, so I could have paid the $25.00 but it's a matter of principle). I finally spoke with a supervisor after what seemed like several more hours and she told me that I was lucky that they had waived the other fees...AS IF! She then proceeded to tell me that they would remove the late fee after doing some type of "tracking" on the account and that all of this would take place in two days. I really do not believe that this is going to happen but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I will absolutely call back in exactly 48 hours to see if the situation has been rectified. To anyone else that is even remotely thinking of building or rebuilding their credit...DO NOT ACCEPT THIS CREDIT CARD'S OFFER!!!

So as you all know...I decided to wait the 48hrs that the supervisor instructed me in doing and believe it or not, they actually WAIVED the fees. My husband says that I have a mouth that can talk me into the Pearly Gates. Maybe he is right. Although the waived the fees, I would still advise any and everyone to be weary of this company. If they send you any credit card offers in the mail "SHRED IT!!!" (safety first)

Ok sorry but I am laughing with you not at you. I am in the middle of the nearly same issue and have now gotten my home state involved. To which they are ignoring them also. HELLO.....we are talking about a state...the full force of the law here. They can and will submit this to the state attorney general's office for criminal and civil action. OK so tell us what happened? I am assuming nothing yet. And mean while as you wait they are quitely charging you interest, late fees, etc on this $25 which personally they never seem to get this account closed.
