FloRd Agency - Independent Contractors Service scam magazine subscriptions to help college kids Denver Colorado
Looks like these jerks are at it in Denver, Colorado now. I am such a sucker! I filled out my information and gave this jerk my e-mail and address, as well as a check for $20, which was made out to "Independent Contractors Service" - should have raised a red flag for me right there, but NO - I'm an idiot with compassion for kids trying to get an education.
I'm supposed to send the other $20 for a 2 year subscription within 10 days, but of course now that I look at the receipt, there is no contact information, web address, e-mail address, or anything other than a P.O. Box in Florida. The guy's name is listed as Matt Daniels, if that says anything to anyone. I went ahead and canceled the check with my bank, thinking that paying the $29 canceled check fee is still better than allowing one penny of my hard-earned money to make it into this jerkoff's bank account.
The tragic thing is that I live in a neighborhood of lots of elderly people, whom this guy was glad to say had had several conversations with him and many of them apparently "helped" him out. I hope my check is actually canceled by the bank. When I asked if they had a website, he told me they didn't because it was a "public relations program" and meant to get the kids to practice their leadership skills. He used several programs' names, such as Volunteer Youth of America. Hopefully, my experience helps someone else who might be about to sign over a check to some person.
