We were returning from dinner on April 7, 2004 . We where 10 minutes from home when the manifold in my 1997 Grand Marquis cracked and we barely made it home. The car overheats within minutes.

Ford is aware of this problem but chooses to ingore it. They have redesigned the part to be alumiun. Well they will not be ignoring it if everyone stops buying their cars. This defective part is the same in many cars manufactured from 1996-1997. Some were recalled but not all. Of course mine wasn't in the recall. So the $600 part was not covered.

This is bull. How long does this have to go on before they are held responsible? Who can we contact that will listen or take action against them? I also have a problem with the electronic windows in this car I have replaced 4 . They haven't done anything about that either. All they say is I will make a note if it, big d**n deal. The part is $85.oo. This is ridiculous. It is a defect and should be their problem.

I plan on calling the local consumer investigator on our news channel. If we all yell load enough someone will listen. If that yeilds any result I will write again. Until then I'm suffering along with all of my fellow 1997 Marquis owners.
