I was hurt almost 3 yrs ago. I became involved in a battle with my employer for sexual harassment. Both my employment & medical lawyer said that the company had no control over GB and their decisions. Although when I showed up for mediation for the sexual harassment lawsuit bam there was GB. The lawyer representing me for my injury did not even know they were there until I called him. They were ready to settle for $5000.00. Even though they had cancelled my surgery 9 times, delayed my checks, office visits and I still hae not had surgery. Never trust G-B, your employer or your attorney. Research the laws and when it comes time to settle if your lawyer has not done much of the work refuse to settle until he cuts his fee.

I have received an OTJ injury to my back, 2 herniated disc's and one ruptured disc. I have found GB to be miserable to work with. They confused and confounded every step. I was even supposed to somehow know when my worker, Zoila, had an appointment scheduled and phone her to follow-up. A friend recommended an attorney, I called Feldmen and Getz in Miami, and things really started to change. I am now receiving TPD checks. I had the injury going on 3 years now, and in just a month after hiring the atty, for the first time, things are moving along in my favor. Before that, I have never seen such an inappropriate, rude, awkward, miserable company as Galligher Bassett, their workers, supervisors, absoultely anyone working for them that I dealt with were perfectly miserable! They actually had me in tears trying to get to a orthopedic doctor, and even with all that, it took a year before I got the first appoiintment, and another 8 months for a follow-up! It's really an outrage how they work with people. I'd recommend anyone with even a paper-cut that's job related, get an attorney as soon as galligher bassett is involved! No stress, No mess!

I have the same problem but i have had a attorney from the start. I'm collecting temp dis from gallagher and the send it when they want. the last on i received was 2 weeks ago and i have bills to pay. Once i got hurt on the job with United Airlines it was like the never knew me. I have worked for UAL for 25 years what a joke. We need to take this to our goverment and have them go after Gallagher Bassett.

Many providers in California will not accept Work Comp patients covered by Gallagher-Bassett. Why? Slow pay or no payment for services provided, services that their adjusters authorized. And in California, the patient cannot be billed and if the carrier refuses to pay, the provider eats it. My suggestion to you is that you get an attorney immediately. Most of the carriers are not going to be responsive to injured workers without an attorney, let me tell you that from professional experience and personal. A good work comp attorney can get the ball rolling. They will get a small percentage of any Permanent Disability settlement (in California, limited to 15% maximum), but it is well worth letting them deal with the headaches and the carriers will be more responsive once they are aware you have legal counsel.
