I'll back the previous two comments - as a former auctioneer within the Princess system, you would NEVER have seen glass in any frame on board, or on pieces received. Further, any pieces you have framed at home that DO have glass in them should be immediately replaced with plexi, for two reasons:

I am a former art auctioneer, and have worked for three cruise lines. None of the cruise lines frame their art with glass; glass is fragile, and when it breaks can do irreparable harm to an artwork. Artwork on board a ship is also framed in plexiglass, as ships tend to rock and artwork may fall off the wall. Artwork framed with glass is hazardous.

I have purchased 4 pieces of art on a Princess cruise over the last 5 years(6 cruises) and have NEVER seen real glass on any of the artwork. My wife and I also took a Royal Caribbean cruise 6 months ago and went to the art auction. Again, no real glass on the artwork. I asked at the auction and was told by the auctioneer that real glass would not last 1 cruise as the art gets knocked around quite a bit.
I think you must have been confused or not paid enough attention.
