Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
A few weeks ago I received a chek in the mail for $4,900. My first instinct was that it was too good to be true, but part of me wanted to believe it. I could have really used the money for Christmas for my kids. I read the letter that was enclosed with the check and knew it was a scam. It said that all I had to do to receive my prize of $750,000. All I had to do was deposit the check and pay a little over $3,000 for taxes.

If I really won a sweepstakes then this definitely wasn't it. First of all, you can't win a sweepstakes that you never entered. Second, you don't pay taxes for sweepstakes or lottery winnings, they are deducted from the money you win.

I disregarded the check and the next day had a message on my answering machine that I couldn't understand. I looked at my caller ID and called the number that was listed for the time the message was left. The number was (876)586-0356. A Mr. Brown answered the phone and told me that I had a check waiting for me in the amount of $750,000. All that I had to do was wire $250 to a place in Jamaica and deposit the check. After I wired the money I was supposed to call him back and he would have the check at my door by 1:00pm.

I decided not to wire the money the next morning and before I left for work Mr. Brown called again asking why I had not wired the money. He was very adament the night before about this not being a scam. He went on to say that I would be walking away from $5,000,000. Over night the $750,000 turned into $5,000,000. I stated that and told him that he was running a scam and hung up the phone.

When looking back on it I am glad that I decided not to send the money or deposit the check. The check was probably fake and my account would have bounced for over $4,000, which would take me almost three months salary to cover.

Please do not send any money to receive money. You can't win a lottery or sweepstakes that you never entered. Also, it is illegal to have to pay money to win a lottery or sweepstakes. Also, think about the information that they give you. I was told that the company was in Tampa, Fl, but I had to wire money to Jamaica.
