Global Star Capital (Cathy Evangelista) states:

"To clarify, we don't charge upfront fees."

But after they have you hooked:

"Our consulting fee is due prior to the face to face meeting, should one be offered.  This is the only fee we charge, for professional consulting services.  We do not charge a commission."

I can't find anyone who has been placed by Cathy Evangelista, Richard Cocovich or Global Star Capital after paying the fee.  Global Star Capital web site has a bunch of sleek references, but my web search fails to verify the validity of any of them.

It appears to be a well done scam.

Cocovich is still Here

Richard Cocovich is still going by the same name and is in Hilton Head, SC.  I feel he has an unprofessional website that spends most of the time stating he is a legitimate business.  He also writes pages about himself on the internet starting that he is not a scam artist.  My question, if you are a legitimate investing firm, why such unprofessional marketing? I thought Full Sail was a school for Disney animators and videographers?

I am still ready to retract my report

I am still ready to retract my report. If Rich Cocovich sends the contact information for one person who is listed on his website, and they verify they have been placed; I will do as I promised and I will retract my report. Rich Cocovich said he would provide the contact information and I am still waiting.

Rich Cocovich is quite possibly now using a new name. To everyone out there, do not pay a penny without good solid references. If they say that they cannot because of privacy agreements, then run.

The fee for services scam was around 8 years ago.

There was even one firm that financed 1 out of a hundred applicants. It was not until the law suits built up, that it became clear that most of the time they collected the fees and strung the prospects out. Sometimes they would even ask for additional fees due to additional services that they invented.

Buyer be careful. We all want to fund our projects. But do not waste your money on super slick rip-off artist.

Clearly a scam

#4Consumer Suggestion

The "consumer comment" previously filed is most likely a response by the offending company and/or Rich Cocovich. I have noted other sites on the web that have similar responses. I have also noted that the company and individual have skillfully (but not thoroughly) attempted to pad Google searches with their company info by applying the name most everywhere. This is most likely a scam. A company that has any merit will be able to provide references and support their claims. Based on the information I have found, this is not the case. Their website contains a list of funded companies, yet most of them are vague and/or do not exist. There is also a claim of funding an artist that has been dead for 50 years.

I would be wary of this individual, Rich Cocovich, and the company, Global Star Capital, as it is most likely a scam. There are many more reputable investment firms available that can fund your venture.

You are right, When I spoke with Rich; he was a heck of a nice guy.

Rich still has not sent me the phone numbers for the references on his site, for whom he has done so much.

Let us know when you get funded.

PS. I got two more companies contacting me today; both needing fees to visit and prepare my project.

I'm a company that has hired Rich Cocovich and his staff at Global Star Capital Services and they have fulfilled everything that they have promised so far, and its has been enjoyable working with them.  In engaging them, Rich and Cathy spent a good portion of time in phone calls with me and other principles of my company.  They also went back and forth in emails checking to see if my project fit their criteria.  I know the consulting fee can make  people wary, but like anything in this world I've learned you aren't going to get something for nothing.  In my own experienced,  the people who have provided me something for nothing turned out to be some of the largest mistakes I have ever made.

To this point, Rich and Cathy have done well as my consultants in achieving my company goals.  I've paid their fee structure listed on their site and they were straight to the point, no hidden agendas.  They have opened up a world that I was struggling to break into with my project and I would recommend them to anyone else who has the right project and is trying to make big.

Cheers,

Rich called me

#7Author of original report

Mon, July 04, 2011

The CEO of Global Star Capital, Richard Cocovich, called me to say that he was honest. We spoke for 15 minutes. He asked me to retract my report. I told him that if his references on his website proved to be real that I would.

I told Richard that I had done extensive search into the validity of his references and could not find any record of them, including the ones who had had public service. He mentioned that he even had a Rabbi's testimonial; but when I asked which branch of Judaism he represented, he could not tell me. It seemed that Richard was very short on information about a Rabbi whom he has helped so much. He said he would have his references call me; but I said I would I would call them, because in the past I have found that the person calling in does not have a company.

I would be interested to find out if the person who wrote in to say that he is working with Richard has:
             1. How much he has paid Richard?
             2. If he has continued to pay on going fees?
             3. Will identify himself so that we can call him to ask about the work Richard has done for him?

I apologize if  Global Star Capital is for real. but to me it still smells like a well done scam.

Global Star Capital is for real - Rich Cocovich works very diligently and earnestly to locate funding for his clients

We are an ongoing client of Global Star Capital, and ever since we have known Rich Cocovich he has been nothing but genuine, professional and supportive of our project. He clearly understands the highly dynamic nature of our new innovation, and he clearly sees the magnitiude of profit potential that our new product will have when it is commercialized on a worldwide basis.

Our project is a difficult one to get funded based upon the "never before seen" nature of our new product design. But Rich has the extreme faith that once funded, that our innovation is going to be a game-changing international hit; as we too believe.

Rich Cocovich has been working vehemently to find the RIGHT investor for us, and he is not giving up (no matter what) until we are funded - Just like we are not giving up on the obvious market impact and the revenue potential of our new product,  either. . . no matter what.

It is easy to jump to conclusions about the motives of investment brokers. And scam artists in this particular industry abound. However, it is our strong belief that Rich Cocovich and his company, Global Star Capital, are NOT one of these scams. Rich's efforts on our behalf have gone well beyond the scope of our initial agreement, and yet he is not giving up. We have been working on a professional basis with Global Star Capital coming up on six months, and he is still maintaining a strong line of communications with our company and showing real evidence that he is working diligently towards our common funding goal.

Scam artists ALWAYS take your money and then quickly disappear off of the face of the planet. They become mysteriously unreachable. Whereas, Rich Cocovich puts a great deal of effort in making frequent contact with our company, giving us realistic updates on his progress. As Mr. Cocovich gets more and more realworld feedback from investors and investment groups around the world with respect to our particular project, he continually gives us realistic information and advice that helps us to re-evaluate and better fit our project proposal, in order to keep our proposal in line with the changing needs and requirements of investors.

Our company has a solid belief that with Global Star Capital and Rich Cocovich on our team, that we ARE going to succeed in reaching our common goal - getting funding, and subsequently delivering our awe-inspiring new product to the world.
