Globat, Deliberatly difficult customer service, no disclosure until after purchase committment, extremely poor business telephone call returns from billing department. Ripoff Los Angeles California
I subscribed by telephone to Globat services. I was very thorough in asking questions about the web site hosting service and technology behind it.
The salesperson flat out lied to me about their requirement that the DNS hosting for your website must be done through them.
The salesperson told me that I could continue to host my DNS elsewhere and simpy point my URL in DNS to their webservers.
After I signed up, their technical support told me this was not true.
I had an option to cancel within 30 days. I called, waited for a 7 day return on my voice mail (cannot EVER get a hold of ANYONE in billing without leaving a voicemail) and that person e-mailed me a link to cancel by web.
The website in the e-mail link errored out for 3 solid days. Technical support was notified within minutes of the cancellation link failure.
Finally, 2 weeks later (now outside my 30 day cancellation policy) the website link for cancellation worked, but refused to let me cancel.
So, another round of call tag between voice mail and 3-5 business days response, the billing person said they would handle it and never did.
Final issue, after 5 months now, I get an e-mail on 6/2/06 about my last chance to avoid an auto upgrade to their new terrabyte service for $29.95 or my credit card would be auto charged.
The cutoff date for the auto upgrade was 5/31/06.
Now, 3 hours after my call today, no response.. Sales people can do nothing but forward me to the same voicemail "Victor" in billing.
TOTAL RIPOFF!!! Bills in opt-out style like a spammer/pornographer.
