Green mountain Energy had come by late on a Friday evening.  In short, we agreed to service. After salesman left, starting looking over his numbers, he was less than honest in reflecting what our charges would be.  Despise dishonest salesmen!!

Per Federal Regulations, there is 3 federal business day window in which to cancel a  contract, Which is even stated in their paperwork. We called that very next Monday (1st business day) to cancel the change, they said they knew nothing of the request. However, the next day  we received email confirmation to switch the service.  With that information, we called again to cancel change of service.  The day before, we had sent, via email and per their guidelines, a cancellation request. When we called, the agent said he found the email cancel request. During our conversation, he stated he cancelled any switch of service. The next day (3rd federal business day)  txu called and asked if we had approved a change to Green Mountain Energy...we said..no...that request had been cancelled.  TXU stated the switchover had already been completed. This happened after calling and emailing Green Mountain and receiving verbal confirmation we would NOT receive their service.  This change also happened within the 3 day federal opt out clause. 

IS THIS EVEN LEGAL?

i suppose this was to force us into service with Green Mountain Energy.  However, working with Txu, we switched back. 

if Green Mountain knocks on your door, turn away. They are not an ethical business. In looking there are other complaints of this same nature.  They are trained to make your savings number look larger than reality. 

Shame on you Green Mountain Energy!!!
