All of the sales people were so nice and to prime me for a sale they all said that if I signed a maintenance contract it would be no problem to get released from the contract as it was no ' big deal ' at Hilton Head Motor Sports.

The turnover of salespeople and managers is unbelievable and as I write a new team is in place headed by General Manager, Chuck Boggs and Business Manager, Brian ( last name unknown ).

Several months ago, I phoned Mr Boggs and asked him to release me from Maintenance Contract as I was verbally promised when I purchased motorcycle. He rudely told me to read top line of my contract and abruptly ended phone conversation.

I list some of the things that have happened since I purchased motorcycle:

-Clutch not adjusted initially which almost caused an accident as motorcycle lurched, almost causing me to fall off motorcycle in traffic.

-500 mile maintenance resulted in mechanic overfilling oil crankcase.

-Oil change on Oct 22nd, 2006 and I caught service tech, Cale, who did not change oil filter as requested. The service counter rep was Jennifer.

-Another time, seat bolt missing and I had to order 10.00 worth of bolts. The bolts were on the motorcycle when I brought it there for service.

I ask one last time to be released from a faulty maint contract. Beware of MC!

The Service Department absolutely made good on all the miscues once the complaints were brought to their attention and I am appreciative of their work ethic. My disappointment is not with service department folks. This dealership sells outstanding motorcycles and I bought one of them. I am upset with salesmen who make verbal promises prior to sale and then hold you to a maintenance contract for 20,000 miles. Had I been told before sale that maint contract was binding, I would not have purchased the contract. As far as purchasing the motorcycle from them, no problem. I only consider the " pre sale promise " concerning opting out of maintenance contract as a consumer rip off. If you are looking for a nice motorcycle HHMS is a decent place to visit and buy. Simply be advised that if you sign a maintenance contract you apparently will be stuck with it.
