I purchased a carton of cigarettes for $64.85 went home (5 minutes away) opened them up & found the packs were black took one out & they were some brand called Sweets and were little cigar's. I immediately contacted the store to let the owner know I was just there (he remembered me) & what had happened that I was coming back over but before I could say to exchange them he hung up on me.
I went in he looked at them & got very upset saying he can't do anything I said all I want is an exchange not my money back & all he has to do is send them back to the manufacturer he said he buys his cigarettes at Sams Club. I told him then they would exchange giving him a correct carton for his store & send back the unusual packaging to the company they order from very simple. He refused & said they will laugh at me & then tried to say "how do I know you didn't swtich them". I have been going there for over a year they are very nice until you have a complaint. Cigar's are more expensive than cigarettes why would I put 10 packs of cigar's into a carton of Marlboro Ultra Light 100's and try to get an exchange for my correct brand. He got upset & said he doens't even sell that cigar brand.
He would not exchange the product and take the manufacturer error carton back to Sams Club for his exchange and made $64.85 off of me. I did report him to the Better Business Bureau but of course that won't do anything. A Metro Police Officer did show up (I called hoping they could try to explain) and the officer did try to reason with him but the owner just kept saying there is nothing he can do & won't excange the carton. I was shocked and confused as a customer I have no recourse unless the owner of the business takes the next step I couldn't go to Sams Club I wasn't the one who purchased the carton's from them. He buys in bulk I tried to reason with him saying they would not laugh at him they are a large company & I am sure they have to deal with companies they order products from and wouldn't want to lose him as a customer over one carton of cigarettes.
I am filing this report because it's not right to take someone's money when a manufacturer error is found to do nothing to help that customer and just keep their money I don't think he should be doing business in NV and I don't want other customers to lose money from this owner's ignorance on how to run a business.

If YOU walked out of the store then there is NOTHING they can do for you. Its against the law for them to take it back. The owner is CORRECT!!!! YOU could have poisoned them. YOU could have damaged them. YOU could have switched them. Because not ALL cigars are expensive. I HIGHLY doubt that YOU bought a carton of Marlboros and got cigars in it. So all your complaint is, is a pack of crap!!!Then BECAUSE you left the premesis and THEN found a supposed problem YOU pretty much tied thier hands. Its against the law for them to do an exchange for ANY reason. So instead of accepting this, YOU escallate the issue by calling the police, who then tell YOU there is nothing they can do. YOU then escallate it to the web in an attempt to cause them damage by posting ONLY your version of it. YOU are trying to bypass THE LAW by attempting social blackmail. Once YOU left it doesnt matter WHAT you say happend. I would suggest that YOU in the future check your carton BEFORE you leave. THEY are NOT going to just swap it out BECAUSE ITS ILLEGAL!!!! NO ONE is going to go to jail FOR YOU!!!! Or YOUR vice.
