This may be the most disappointing of all the Rip Off Reports generated by the sock or spam account "Sweet Red" aka Mambo Odette as this shows not just her racism, but her extreme homophobia and bigotry. It is also the most personal of all of her attacks and the one that lead me to feel the need to reply to her harrasment.
Odette seems to feel that Rip Off Report in some way allows her to more fully validate herself. I do feel sorry for her that she does not feel secure enough in her practice, her religion or her spirits that she needs to attack so many other Houngan and Mambo or are simply out there attempting to do the work, and I hope that eventually she finds a more condusive outlet for her anger as this is not healthy, nor really should what she is saying he legal. Unfortunately Rip Off Report removes many legal avenues, especially for those of us that are on the other side of the world, leaving on the opportunity to rebut her harrasment.
Odette states: "BEWARE, any young boys and men online looking to learn about hoodoo or voodoo, or and magic...
Liam and his boyfriend Alice are online in EVERY chat group, facebook group , looking for young men and boys to trick." Nothing could be further from the truth. We maintain a website, Kiwi Mojo, which is dedicated to education on the African Diasporic Traditions of Haitian Vodou, Santeria/Lukumi and Hoodoo. We provide as much free information as we can, and our Hounfo offers public Fet [parties for the Spirits] here at our home around 8 times a year. We are certainly on Facebook although not so much on other social media forums, and belong to several groups, however my husband [note: not boyfriend] Houngan Alistair [note: not Alice] and I are in a fully committed monogomous relationship and have no interest in other people of any gender. More importantly, such relationships between teachers and students in Vodou are taboo as Vodou sosyetes are familial relationships. This is blatant bigotry and homophobia at work.
Odette goes on to say: "They sent me nude photos and photos of their fat football shaped asses having sex. They told me the would teach me about voodoo free if I sent them Nude photos too. I AM NOT GAY...NO WAY! " ... now, this is not the first time she has made such allegations against a gay Houngan of Vodou. In fact it seems to be her stock and trade way to attempt to discredit people based on thier sexual orientation. However it is all untrue. It does not really deserve any further comment.
Odette continues: "Liam calls himself a PRIEST, LOLLLLLLL! He is a nothing but a freaky fraud. The BIBLE uses before Voodoo ceremonies clearly states that his life style and marriage is a SIN AGAINST BONDYE!" Now, this grammer is terrible, but I think Odette is trying to say that according to the Bible, Homosexuality is a sin. Well, yes, there are 8 references in the Bible to homosexuality. But then there is also the mixing of two fabrics which is a sin, and we all know Odette is wearing cotton/poly blends ... then there is make up, anyone wearing that is the w***e of Babylon! There are lists that could be made of what the bible declares sin, but that is not Vodou. You see, in Vodou, the Spirits do not care what sexuality one is. Gay, Straight, Bisexual, Transgender ... none of it matters because the Spirits don't have anything to do with our sexuality ... that is something to be kept private, not out in front of the Spirits.
None of this is healthy for Vodou. For those that wish to know more about who we are and what we do, I recommend reading through our website, and then if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us directly. We are well known within the VOdou community as reputable Houngans and are happy for give you contacts that can validate the same.
Lastly I really do pray that sooner or later, Odette get over her own insecurities and be able to stand tall and strong, confident in her own relationships with the spirits so that she not feel the need to attack and bring down others.
Lape Bondye avek nou - May God bless us all
