In 2009 I purchased an new HP Pavilion Desktop PC A6720F. Within 6 months I was experiencing mildly disturbing cases of the computer freezing. By 2010, the issues escalated and online forums indicated problems with the NVDIA graphics card. By then, the retailer could not refund the device so I called HP. The rep assured me HP had addressed the NVDIA issues and he remotely installed some HP software. He further advised me to purchase the 3-yr HP Extended Service Plan which covered  Hardware protection and software system coverage

On 3/4/2013 the PC started to malfunction during startup. On 3/6/2013 the unit could not even get into the desktop anymore. On 3/7/2013 I called HP and the rep told me they cannot honor the service agreement despite having records of the issues occurring 3/4/2013 because "The agreement ran from 3/6/2009 - 3/6/2013".

Sounds like the HP service software was sitting on my device like a time bomb. As soon as the service "ran out" the device dies. How's that for quality?
