Sadly we let her in. The field agent, Jessica, came to our house selling a "special" on ICON Security systems to houses with "curb appeal". Being an avid gardner she immediately appealed to my feelings about how hard I have worked to make our house look nice. Icon Security Systems, she said "is having a special!". They installed the system on our house which turns out is a fancy noisemaker. They said we would only have to pay $50.00 for the box and smoke detectors if in turn we would put an Icon sign in our front and back yards. So, we did. OH, and we also signed a contract. Oops. The very next day, two police officers from our local town came knocking at our door, having noticed our signs. They said they were "fraud investigators" from the police dept. and that they were investigating Icon Security, Inc. due to numerous complaints. They told us to do nothing and they would get back to us. Meanwhile, I'm very aware of the "3 day" cut off of service on the contract but I think that these investigators would know this because they informed us they were investigating on prior complaints about this company. Well, sadly again, we heard nothing. I called our local police dept. and an Officer Wellhauser (sp?) said they had turned up nothing and basically blew me off. I immediately called Icon Security and cancelled the "service". This was June 11th. The "service" was installed on May 28th. I thought they would bill me for the difference and let it go. Not so. We got a bill for in excess of $3000.00 dollars. We blew our stacks. Phone calls began starting with the local police officer who came to our house with his fellow "investigator". I told him what was going on and he said he would do nothing to help us "as the city couldn't be involved". All I asked for was a letter stating that they were investigating this company and we were told to "do nothing". As good citizens we mind the cops especially we they show up at your house. Weren't they involved the second they showed up? No good. They won't help. So...to make a long story short....Icon is calling our house with an auto responder that has slipped past my phone filters is excess of 3 -4 times a day clogging up my voice mail. We have written two letters to the attorney general and the local police chief as well as ICON. I'm versed in the rules of engagement according to the FDCPA and I know they are harrassing us but it doesn't stop and our own police haven't responded to my letter or to help and I have written to our police chief. We are fighting and using time and energy for these f***s that could be used for family, friends or nice things. We were so stupid to believe this "agent" or even that our police would protect us. We are very, very hurt and more, PISSED OFF. Basic honesty has gone down the tubes on this one. But, we fight on.....oh and as far as hope? I knew it was there when I followed the links to this website. Thanks for listening.

I worked for this company this summer. i was an honest sales man and i did very well for my first summer out. because of school i could only come out for 2 months plenty of time right well in the end i have been screwed.. but i will get to that. As for the company, they are legit but no longer in buisness. we would build buisness buy doing all the sales and installations for alarmsystems and then sell them off to larger companies like ADT and others. i believed in this company and i believe you get a good deal but if in any way you break your contract or get on the wrong side of the ropes they are terrible... and not easy to work with... as for me i went out this summer in hopes to make more then i made at home. i sold 27 systems in2 months. very good for i first summer or so i hear. as the summer comes to a close i found my self spending every thing that i have earned totalling about 9200 dollars just for living and then on top of that i had to pay my way back to oregon from ohio with my car. they paid my way out granted but then charged me for the gas money they supposedly paid for. as the next month progressed i lossed 2 accounts putting me down to 25 and then for some reason out of no where i lost another two. not because of the customers becoming delinquent (not paying) but because some how paperwork just dissappeared. none the least it seems so convienent for icon to miss place enough paper work to through me below the 1800 dollar rent bonus. now i lost my rent bonus i lost my pay grade bonus so im left with 5750 im still ok i have some money left over right... well no... i was there for 2 months and yet they charged me the normal length in which a student stays out for the summer so for 2 months i paid 1800 dollars in rent to share a bedroom with one guy and a apt with 6 guys. and on top of that i paid for utilities as well. so in the end i made 5750 that should be ok. they paid me about 4500 so its now february and i should be recieving about 1250. i logged on to my hold fund and what do i see it now says that i owe them 1,621 dollars....... i could not believe my eyes. I WORKED MY F****** A** OFF AT A JOB THAT MAKES YOU EXAUSTED DEPRESSED NO ONE LIKES TO TALK TO A DOOR TO DOOR SALES MAN TO BE SCEWED OVER IN THE END>... not to mention the filed in my W2 that i earned the 5750 so now i have to pay about 900 dollars in taxes ICON SECURITY COST ME 5,000 dollars to work for. I paid ICON SECURITY $5,000 so that i could work 10 hr days 6 days a week for 2 months to get nothing. IF ANY ONE CAN HELP ME OUT WITH THIS LET ME KNOW...
