Irving ISD Texas Misusing our tax Neglects our children Irving Texas
I went into the ISD tax office to pay my taxes. 1st time to visit. I was shocked. I am an electrical contractor, and know the cost of the light fixtures in this office: $400 each. They were throughout the offices and on every floor. The ceiling tiles were revealed and also one of the most expensive tiles available. Imported marble flooring. Why couldn't they use a $45 light fixture or a regular ceiling tile like their tax payers do? The cost to maintain these fixtures alone will cost a fortune with their special ballast and lamps.
The kids come to your door selling stuff (candy, etc.)for school so they can have money to buy something they need. They never came to my door selling candy to help purchase an Italian leather sofa or such.
You hear on TV all the time that teachers are underpaid, kids are failing, the schools always neeed more money. It is getting sick that the ISD plays on our emotions making us feel bad that we are not paying enough for education. Just propose any legislation and say it is to better the children, and we just roll over. WAKE UP!
It just makes me sick to see it being spent foolishly. This is not money that falls from the sky, it is money that I spent a month sweating in the Texas heat honestly working for. Actually it was 5 weeks pay for my school taxes this year.

Northeast ISD's school board spent $600,000 on a room to hold their meetings in. They spent $300,000+ on an electronic sign in front of one, one, of their high schools."To give the kids something to be proud of". There's a war going on between a local web site, San Antonio Lightning and the Northeast ISD. If you want some interesting reading, visit the site.

You sure sound mad! If you want to really make the School administration quake in their expensive boots, demand as a citizen an INDEPENDENT AUDIT of the School districts books!
