To the person (Jaws90) that made the initial posting, you may be happy to know that JD passed away towards the end of 2017.
For those of us that knew him and did business with him over many years this was a very sad news, as he epitomized knowledge and integrity and will be sorely missed. However, thankfully the company is still in business as life continues moving on. His second in command proved over the years to be equally competent and skillful. I recommend JD Grewell Associates wholeheartedly and without reservations.
God speed JD.

I am a real estate agent with over 32 years of experience selling Real Estate.
I met Mr. Grewell about 15 years ago when he was inspecting a home that I had listed. He was not employed by my clients the Sellers, but by the buyer of the home.
The inspection along with the report took him between 5 and 6 hours. He was extremely thorough and really gave this house a good shakedown. Just about any deficiency, large or small he was able to find.
I was so impressed by the man, that I have been using him as a home inspector ever since. For me, the worst thing is not that a contract falls through because there are too many problems with a house; the worst is that a client of mine buys a home with probles that they don't know about.
JD has been alway punctual, corteous and fair. In all the years I have been doing business with him and probably more than 100 inspections, not once did he make as much of a suggestion to use any contractors. I guess he may know some good people in the various trades and he may give a referral if you ask him, but I would not know because I never did.

It is too bad Jaws does not state that he is probably the unscupulous salesman intent on scamming a long-term (25 years) repeat lady client of mine.
Thankfully, Maryland allows for a three day cooling off period after signing a contract, especially under duress. I told her to cancel the agreement the day after she had signed and told her to get at least two more bids from reputable contractors.
A man from the firm named Josh said he'd do his best to badmouth me to everyone he could. Geuss he must be a fan of Steven Spielberg.
