signed a contract on 8-27-09 to fully restore a 1967 corvette that was original and had original paint. it was to be completed for judging @ a florida meet in jan 2010. i got car back on March 31,2010 uncompleted. What was completed was a scam. no brakes-broken batt post so wouldn't even start both doors wouldn't even close, hood wouldn't fit, rear end leaking fluid (had to remove entire rear suspention ) and redo because of sandblasting (also transmission) no shims in trailing arms and numerours wrong parts such as shock mounts. put body back on frame with no shims or radiator support shims. several wiring or non working problems. even put exhaust flanges on upside down. new heater core broken and leaking.kept my chromed vent window frames, new nos grill ($500 value which he sent ck for),original rally wheels, new b=u light switch and tunnel insulation new outside mirror-re-chromed door handles , horns as well as other parts most he has returned but not all. body was never sanded and buffed and hood & rear deck had to be re-painted. heater hoses cut, seat foam missing, & not installed.many others arears of poor workmanship or not completed. Then two weeks ago after working on correcting all this we discovered he switched frames and put a bent one under the car and of couse never said a word .this will have to be removed at considerable expense ($15000 ) and replaced as one front wheel is further back than the other. in all he deliberately sabotaged and ruined a great car worth about $100,00 he used my car as a parts car for another car he was restoring.he was paid his full contract amount he has returned some parts after accusing him of being a thief but no labor restitution. other people helping me straighten all this out know these facts also.

Well after all this time (must have a guilty conscience) the KING OF CROOKS has entered something and of couse it is a 100% total lie. I havent been banded from or for anything ! Nor will i be. Notice he doesnt mention from what .This sums up what scandalous low life liar he really is
Everything in his May 24th rebuttal is totally false and for about two years after that I had several persons call me asking for advise how to get there cars back after paying him to do the
restoration. One guy said he drove hundreds of miles only to have his wife slam the door in his face. Others that did finally get
there cars back had to pay other shops (corvette repair-Kevin Mckay for example ) to finish his work and told me so.
In one rebuttal he refers to a haas restoration vs a hedges corvette restoration ( or whatever he is going under these days as his previous emails no longer work ) bfelts maybe ? First of all he was to body of the whole car not me ! I,ve had about 33 bloomington golds and many many top flights including 2013. He has never even owned a vette of his own. If he really wants to do the right thing send me the money it took me to finish my car. If he does (dont hold your breath) i will post it here and let you people know he finally did the right thing
He is a smart individual but went to being totally dishonest for some reason ???

Lynn Haas has since been banned from judging his cars due to fake trim tags and vin tags. That sums up what kind of a person he is.

I am glad he answered my complaint and as you can see he did not address even one of my problems with the car AFTER I received it back. there were no untruths in my statement nor was it a partial contract (who would sign a partial and he signed it ) there is even an amendment to the contract allowing him two more months to complete it. Of course he didn't come close to completing it and I have spent thousands doing so after I got it back. It was a obvious scam by him from the time he got possesion to cheat lie and steal. i have been messing with these cars all my life and am considered a professional in the corvette world unlike this guy who hasn't even been doing this five years. you can contact me for more truths and other people that he has scammed @ [email protected]
It doesn't matter where the car sat or the condition when he started. it was to be a finished product not no brakes-doors that wouldn't close-not buffed out (he states you don'y sand lacquer but we had to -to get it to buff and also re-paint hood and rear deck !! since my first complaint we have discovered even more such as even filing the numbers off the rear shock mount spindles so he couls switch parts. (We have replaced with correct ones) what a low-life.
the parts he mentions he is out were my originals off the car to begin with otherwise, as he states, why did he send them to me ? I still don't have them all !
there was never late money only late on what work he did do--he was to do everything to restore it except finish start up of A/C and conv top which is the original. Was (and still am) discussing with a lawyer to sue to get back the car about the time I finally did get it back, Now we are discussing sueing for trying to sabotage a great documented 1967 corvette.
DO NOT LET THIS CROOK TOUCH YOUR CAR OR YOUR PARTS !!

it would be better if you posted the contract here-minus social security numbers and personal info---but to be honest--i would belive you over this guy---the problem i have with you is the fact that-if what you say is true---why did you go through the trouble to oblige this customer with parts---i am not a business owner but would like to be someday--with this--the customer is not ALWAYS right--and you may have been taken advantage of with this policy which i am sure you have cause many do as it is the way of the sheep people business owners-----on a further insulting note towards the owner--i am a car n**i---i tend to judge(for the most part) people in the type of car they are driving or buying or like---cars really speak personality--for example i am the a*hole in the bmw who likes to drive fast down the highway and wants all slow mother f**kers to get out of my way!!!!---but i am an a*hole for wanting to have fun--and slow a*s people in the fast lane of all lanes ruin my fun---anyway---but we are talkking about a guy who is restoring a corvette--this is a classical old guy mobile---even the new ones suck(i have drivin them)---that should of been your first clue there is something wrong there---on top of this--he mentions numerous numerous problems with the vehicle you were suppuse to "fully" restore---why would anyone buy a vehicle with all these problems like this??---knowing it will cost money--and lots to fix--probably more than the car was worth---and if what you say is true--about him getting used e bay parts to be cheap--that should of been your indiaction something is wrong----just a little business hint---but sometimes accepting no money or terminating a contract and not receiving money is always the better option of dealing with a dumbass like this as it will cost you more in the end--and for what- a little bit of money??---you also said he was going to turn around and sell it---knowing he was going to do this and with what you thought to be wrong--why did you go ahead and continue to do business--you may have indirectly been a moral issue for someone else--but again--you didn't care--you just wanted the money!!!!!--hopefully a lesson learned for you

So many untruths, it is difficult to know where to start. First, our contract was NOT to fully restore the '67. It was a partial, against my better judgment. Given the customer's wishes, the restoration budget was penny pinched, so he could finish it and turn it quick. I invite any reader to contact me directly www.hedgescorvettes.com, or visit with me at Bloomington this June, 2010. A copy of my contract for a partial with Mr. Haas can be viewed at the show. Mr. Haas fails to mention my work was 2 months late because he refused to make timely payments consistent with our contractual agreement. THE CAR: The '67 sat in the Boston elements, outside for 20+ years. It was very deteriated and rusted. Mr. Haas purchased it after only viewing photos. It was delivered to Carlisle '09 by transport, Mr. Haas and I looked it over together, for a period of maybe 5-10 minutes before I transported to my shop. A frame was needed given the poor condition of original, and Mr. Haas bought the frame at Carlisle personally! The car had been hit in the rear end, and paint was pealing off the body. THE HOSTILE RESTORATION: Given Mr. Haas' lack of familiarity with his car, at every turn any and all recommendations I made and assessments of condition I communicated were questioned and challenged. He would buy parts on ebay, have them shipped to me, and then question if they were his parts, even though he had never seen them. We never sand a laquer painted body, and it was buffed to NCRS paint standards. Hedges Corvettes made every attempt to make this customer happy in the end. We even sent him additional parts to trade out (when he wasn't happy with his own e-bay purchases), only to have Mr. Haas refuse to follow through with his end of the trade--I am now out 3 rally wheels, 2 vent window frames, grill, back up switch. Buyers should beware of a Lynn Haas restored car, a Haas restoration is done as cheaply as possible and not up to a Hedges Corvettes restoration.
I should add....he did not want to have the following rebuilt: transmission, rear end, wiring, convertible top and a/c compressor. Buyer beware.
