January 2005 Signed contracts with Dave for Ridgemont Model home.

February 2005 Property surveyed.

March 2005 Steve and Dave came out to look at property, Steve asked that I call Dave when I knew when the bulldozer operator was coming so he could be here to show him what and how to bulldoze the property. Nothing done.

April 2005 Called Dave 2 days prior to Mitchell Sammons bulldozing property, as instructed by Steve and Dave, so Steve could show Mitchell exactly how property was to be bulldozed. NO ONE SHOWED UP!! Property bulldozed. Deeds recorded at Courthouse.

May 2005 Received a call from Francis/Clara to go ahead and get my temporary electric pole, that the crew was going to be out the next week to start the house construction. Needless to say, no one showed up to start construction. Tried at least 4 different occasions to get someone to come out and look at the property. No one would call me back with a day and time. Then Steve said he came and looked at the property and would need more bulldozer work done, that's why he wanted to be there when they bulldozed. I informed him that I did call the office 2 days prior to the work being done, and since the guy doing the work, did it on his off days and had another full time job that I had to get it done when it was convenient for him or not get it done at all.

Still have not received deed from Jim Walters. Called about the deeds, no one knows where they are. I called the courthouse in Lawrence Countydeeds returned to the attorney who had them drawn up. Called Jim Walters back and told them where they were, they would check on them and get back to mefew weeks later got a copy of deed with a note stating not sure where original was at but that the copy they sent me would do.

June 2005 Finally, Steve said he would be out to look at the property, to see if they could put the house that I wanted on it, but couldn't come out on that Thursday and Friday, but would call me on Monday to see if he could come out on Tuesday or Wednesday the next week. I said this would be fine. On Monday there was no callneither was there a call on Tuesday or Wednesday or the rest of that week. On Monday of the second week, I called the Huntington office and was told that Steve had gone on vacation the week before and would not be back until the next week.

July 2005 Then, I called and set up another appointment for Jim and Steve, at this time I did not know that Dave was no longer with the company, to come measure the property. When the day came, I sat at the property for over 2 hours in the extreme heat waiting for them to show. NO ONE CAME!! So I called the office to find out where they were at, not to my unsurprised, they were still there. Jim stated he had forgotten and would be out that afternoon, so I cancelled a dental appointment I had so I could be there and once again went out into the heat to get a repeat second performance of the first. NO ONE SHOWED!!

So I called yet again and was told that they would come out the next week but would call with date and time. Of which, you guessed it no one showed. I have been told on at least 3 different occasions by Jim that my contract was going to be cancelled. The second time I was told I called and spoke to Melissa at the Tampa Office. Jim called me later that day and said he and Steve would be out on Friday to measure the property, Friday morning Allen called and said they weren't coming because they couldn't find Steve, but that they had left messages for him to call.

Later that day I talked to Jessica who said they had not been able to reach Steve and for some reason he had not called in that day at all, and that she did not agree with what Steve had done either.

So come Monday morning I called again and Jim said they would be out on Tuesday at 11am, lo and behold he showed. Of course, Steve wasn't with him and instead of measuring the lothe walked off what he thought was the measurements and told me he would leave a listing of what houses he thought would fit on the lot. I told him I would call on Friday afternoon to get the listing. He kept trying to throw the San Antonio at me, which I had told him already 2 or 3 times I did not like or want the San Antonio, especially the way he told me they were going to put it on the lot, with the front of the house facing the left side of the property and the side of the house running parallel with the road. I told him I wanted a house with the front facing the road.

When I called on Friday, he still had not fixed a list of houses. I was told to call back about 4 p.m. when he would be back in the office. At 4:15pm I called and asked to speak to Jim. When he answered he handed me back to Allen and said that Allen was the one I needed to speak to. And again I was offered the American or the SAN ANTONIO. I had asked if I couldn't have the Ridgemont, then I would like the Arlington which was 88 sq ft smaller than the Ridgemont.

Now they have to come back out and get exact measurements to see if I can have that one. That was what was supposed to have been done this past Tuesday. Jim then again told me that he could cancel the contract. Things became heated and I told him I would be calling Tampa office. He said he could have his boss call me and I said that would be fine. He said his boss would be calling me on Monday morning.

To begin where I left off. August 2005-construction finally begins on my home. framers show up one day, then you don't see them for several weeks. when i called steve he told me "if they don't show up on monday" i'll send someone else out. well, nobody showed up that following monday, and it was 2 weeks later before anybody showed up. when i sat in my vehicle so i could watch the progress of my home, i was made to feel very uncomfortable on my own property, because the guys kept looking over at me and saying something to each other then laughing. September 2005--i got a couple of weeks worth of work from framers October 2005--not much done this month either November 2005--still nothing to brag about-at least it's finally beginning to shape up as a house December 2005--they finally finished the frameup, then started on the roof. they had it almost finished and left the roof off over the master bedroom, where of course, you know it snows in December, it snowed inside the house. by the time they came back out the entire floor in the master bedroom was completed saturated with water from the melted snow. of course, all this time calls were made to the office in South Point and either I got no return call from Steve, or he was conveniently out of the office. January 2006--finally things are starting to come together, or so i thought. this month, bobby chapman, came to install the dishwasher and instead of asking me where i wanted it, put it where he thought it should be. i am left handed and would have preferred that the dishwasher be on the left side of the sink, but no, he took it upon himself to put it on the right side, which is where it remains today, because he said he would put it on the left and never came back! the banister had to be fixed on both porches because they were never mounted to the house, and my 5 year old leaned against it and just about fell off the porch. according to steve, it wasn't already fixed because, the framers and siding guys were in a dispute over something that happened in an election at the firehouse where they were both running for an office, so neither one would come out when the other was here. my walk in closet was a crawl in closet, because the hung the door backwards. the bathroom door had an inoperable lock, the pantry was never put in my kitchen because steve said when they moved the door and porch from the back to the side that left no room for a pantry, of course, you know there was no discount off the price of the house. his only recourse was to bring me another cabinet to hang on the wall that didn't match the other cabinets, then had the audacity to ask me if i wanted him to leave it in the center of my kitchen floor in the box or out of the box. of course, after several minutes of discussion about how his tools were stolen and he was unable to install it, i came up with some tools to install it with, and you know how conveniently he came up with his own tools? the wrong size boards were put on the banister of my porches and all had to be replaced by another crew that came out to fix the mistakes made by steve and his crew (Leo and J & R Construction) they are exceptional and if they had been the ones to build my house, i would have been extremely happy. steve and his bunch left my house in a total mess. they were asked to leave the drywall on the porch instead of throwing it out in the yard to get wet, did they do it? no--we are still cleaning up drywall from the yard and it is now October 2006. Then to top it all off, i was in the hospital the end of January 2006 when the house was finished, supposedly. steve came to the hospital for me to sign off on the papers that you are supposed to sign after you do a walk through of the house. i hadn't even seen the house, but yet he wanted me to sign those papers. I didn't sign them either. he had to wait until my husband came home that weekend. I ended up getting out of the hospital that day and stopped to look at the house. the doors were unlocked and i walked in. i had nothing in the house that i was supposed to have. i ended up with a basic kitchen instead of the deluxe, i had a refrigerator, dryer, and dishwasher. there was no stove and no washer. i called steve and he wanted me to call the police and file a police report. i told him several times that i couldn't do that because i don't know if they were in the house to begin with. to me that is the same as filing a false police report. this is on the same day and a couple of hours later than when they were supposed to have been delivered. go figure. this is too convenient. steve also likes to stand and brag about his big fancy house that he has, with the hardwood flooring and all. well, he might have the hardwood flooring, but it is in a trailer made in the 1970's back in the backwoods of Gallipolis. so as far as i'm concerned that makes him plain white trailer trash so he don't care how he destroys the dreams and hopes of other people through the destruction of their homes. I do have one other thing to say, and then that is it. My thumbs up to Leo and J & R Construction for the extra effort they made to make my home at least a little bit more enjoyable for me to live in. They righted all the wrongs that Steve and his incompetent crew made. now i feel as if i have a home instead of a heap of lumber thrown together on a hill. Thanks Leo!!
